solid investment, looking foward to your findings even though i do not find it sensible to buy a brand new M3/4 and rip the brand new car apart to go fast... but many will i bet, and its people buying M's not non m cars so the $$ to mod is likely there with a more mature crowd... Cant wait to see what happens "

Mid-pull 29+ psi, 15 degrees of advance, 5500RPM meat of the powerband, number 2 injector plug somehow vibrates out, dropping all fuel to number 2 cylinder instantly, log is a scary thing to behold, bank 1 afr jumping to over 15:1 and HPFP dropping all at the same time. SOMEHOW the DME being the magic box it is, catches it and throws it into limp, I pull over check codes, #2 injector malfunction, hmmm. Pop the hood find the plug out just quite not seated and am 100% sure when I fire it back up the idle is going to be lumpy still with a torched cylinder. Fire it back up, dead smooth do 3 more pulls at these levels, logs are all perfect. In ANY PI car that cylinder is gone if something like that happens.

The point of this story is, if the DME can work its magic to protect the motor in a situation like that, you must really be doing bad things to lose one of these, from a lean / knock condition.
this is impressive on many different levels...

one being your turbos hitting 29+ psi .... quality lightweight parts make a difference huh "

" yes i know, exactly my point. Never once did i hear a ptf or bms motor blowing shortly after trying a map... ask Dan (ak335i) his friend was one of the first... there was one last week i heard of and two in between there that I have heard of and I am some random person in NY

part of the problem may be users having piggybacks being told to put this is user adjustment xyz etc, not remembering what they did... terry didnt let meth safety be changed for very very long, now you can set custom boost targets on fuel and turn off flow detection...

similar things that people MAY do when they want the "fastest stock turbo" map, etc.... so who knows but wedge leads all on blown motors, ask around "

" i agree he is helpful but many more motors have been blown than people know about with his flash, not sure why people dont make it public, but i would go back to the drawing board before sending that same file off to someone else and accept another donation.

But i have heard many stories like Tony's ..... helping remotely many times but the stories I have heard than have him send these same files to people he knows are running pump gas who do not know much of anything about the key factors in engine health while running aggressively , which can easily be told by a few emails back and forth by him and the user. It is what it is, im done, i shared my .02 but I would 100000% stick with PTF or Terry over him personally. "

" I have never run a Wedge Tune as we all know Dzenno tunes everything for me, always to great success. But I will say, when I first bought the shop car it needed to be recoded to a more compatible DME ID. Ken AKA Wedge, literally spent hours and hours helping me to get this done, as my old ass tuning laptop first did not have enough storage for all the software then wouldn't install drivers etc. Half of this time was spent with Wedge on Screen share just working on the car while I wasn't even sitting there and was doing other things, when he needed me, he would text me. He never asked for a dime, I donated $100 bucks to him because he deserved it, I have no idea how he is working his tunes, but the amount of time he spent helping me was above and beyond and there was no required donation asked for. A few months back, he flamed us pretty hard in the PTF single kits thread over on E90, and I was pretty annoyed by it, but I figured I should share my experience anyways because he went above and beyond to help us get the car coded. Interesting...

Makes you wonder about how much custom mapping is really done from all of the vendors. You would think a fully refined and perfected FBO 93 map would be standard by now...I really don't buy that each car is really that different...but what do I know. "

If they don't need to be rebuilt then don't offer to send them to rob for a rebuild in your OP? lol. I would suggest making sure everything is 100% perfect for $2500. I'm interested, but no where near that price. GLWS. "

Agreed! Great choice, and can't wait to see the finished product. What size / offsets did you get? And how much do they weigh? "

" The real question will be if you can tune it yourself (or pay a typical 3rd party tuner) or if they lock it down with the master-slave Guy Freiling cables and require all tuning to go through them. This is what has held back the S65 market for years.

This is why I wanted a Cobb unit for the S65; I'm tired of the bullshit shadow-tuner culture in the S65/S85 world. "
