" Very awesome. I really hope they build a high hp 5 cylinder though. To me the v8 is the equivalent of a turbo m car. "

I can increase the size of the line, but not the hpfp opening. "

Because I don't see us getting the full flow capacity out of this pump necking it down like that. On full e85 and 16-17 I don't think there is much left in it. Just to restricted. Putting the pump in high speed actually made us loose fuel. "

It works ok I'll say. To reap the benefits of this pump larger fuel line is required. The outlet on the pump is -10, and we took it down to a -6 barb which required some major line stretching. To do this the right way you really need at least -8 all the way to the motor, and to me seems kind of pointless when the hpfp has a 1/4" hard line going into it. I guess the walbro was built with the smaller opening in mind, I just hope it's reliable. "

That's what we did for testing the Friday night. In the end, it's just a less elegant solution for a daily driven car, and at this point more work than it's worth. "

That's very interesting. Perhaps it has something to do with a lot of Americans being what I call Brand whores. So they'll pay whatever it takes to look like they are the best, or richest whatever. Truthfully, I don't know A41.8, but I have seen his work in person a few times and his stuff is nice. I do actually think he charges a little more than he should contrary to how my above post probably sounded, but who am I to determine what his time is worth. That would be a pretty big jerk move. His work is solid, and people are willing to pay for it. So realistically why would he charge less?

I can't speak for 1.8t on repairs on the system or choice in mufflers, only on what my buddy does. He warranties his work, and will make changes if something isn't right at no cost. He just asks people what they want sound wise from their exhaust and he goes from there. Mufflers have different packing materials, shapes, types of chambers, and sizes, they all effect how the exhaust sounds, and to an extent performs. My friend has no scientific way of doing this, other than using his experience. You do something long enough, you just know what works. "

If you want shit, you'll get shit for the money you're talking about. Custom, when built properly, ALWAYS costs more than a setup off the shelf.
You forgot to mention you aren't a Chinese slave. Just to add to this, piping isn't as cheap as people think. Especially when you start having to add bends into it. My buddy makes a lot of custom exhausts. He pretty much gets this reaction from everybody, then they usually say they have a guy who will do it for less. Some how they always end up calling back month or two later, or just never get an exhaust. I'm sure you get that. You gotta pay to play. If you want top notch quality the price will obviously reflect it. I have no problem of people buying cheap stuff, but don't pretend they are the best. I have raceland dp's on my 335i. I know they are crap. I don't need to convince anyone otherwise. "

" I thought I'd share some information we learned in testing a larger single pump on this car. For reference the pump we tried is the Fuelab 41402, rated at 1300hp. As many of you know the stock fuel controller uses PWM. What we found was that using a pump that flows this much isn't a good idea unless you are powering it say straight from the battery so the car cannot control it. What we saw happening was the fuel pump would turn on, hit fp target, then the car would shut the pump off. The issue is that the pulses coming from the controller were either not large enough, or not close enough together to even keep the pump running. Under light driving the pump would barely even turn on. At WOT the pump would shut off at target, and we would loose FP, then it would turn back on and try to recover. By then it was too late. It was an experiment that I think was worthwhile. We know that this large single pump can be mounted in tank, in the fuel bucket with some modification. I think we are going to run a walbro in tank like everybody else does and see where that takes us. Maybe run a walbro booster with it or something idk. Just something I thought I would share since more and more people are starting to tear into these cars. "
