DD GT3 RDPublished on 04-05-2011 04:00 AM
This is a great race to see, BimmerBoost and BenzBoost members DD GT3 RD and DLSJ5 racing their C63 P31 and M3 DCT respectively. The C63 P31 is stock and the DCT M3 has a catless X-pipe and Borla mufflers. The C63 with the P31 package is the decisively faster and for the M3 to win it would definitely take a tune. Warning: This dyno is a very low reading dyno. Most C63's with the P31 package dyno around 420whp stock on a dyno jet. Stock the car ranged from 378-394whp. Tuned it ranged from 417-427whp So that is a gain of 33whp and 32trq. Very solid numbers. I was not expecting these results at all as I have heard you could not gain much out of a tune on the P31. So thanks to Jeremy at OE Tuning! ...Published on 02-26-2011 04:44 PM
BenzBoost user DDGT3RD did some comparison VBOX runs with the OE Tuning C63. DDGT3RD has a stock P31 C63 AMG. The OE Tuning car is a tuned standard C63 AMG with the OE Tuning tune along with a full exhaust including headers from Gintani. The P31 car did 60-130 in 9.87 seconds which is quite impressive. Sub 10 stock puts it in some elite company and ahead of cars like the Ferrari F430. The OE Tuning C63 did 8.58 on 91 pump gas. Impressive? Yes, check out the graphs. ...Published on 02-19-2011 07:13 AM
Another record was set by an MHP car at the MIR drag strip this weekend. BenzBoost member Dodger63 pushed further into the 10's by running 10.78@131. This is an increase of 7 miles per hour of trap speed over his previous 10 second slip which is incredible. We have the slip here and will have further details with pictures posted later in the week. Congratulations to Dodger63 and to MHP, raising their already high C63 performance mark even higher. ...Published on 01-14-2011 09:41 PM
Autoweek recently tested the new CLS 63 AMG. We have been waiting to see numbers out of this motor and now we have something to go on: firstname.lastname@example.org. Now, it is important to note this was achieved with their test equipment. This most likely means something like a VBOX which inflates trap speeds. However, the test was done at 4000 feet elevation which will have an effect even on turbo motors. This was also the standard version without the performance package which ups power to around 550 horsepower. What this means is these cars will run 11's out of the box and the performance package will likely be trapping over 125 mph. With a tune... well, things are going to get very interesting indeed. ...byPublished on 02-07-2010 11:06 PM
So just wanted to say a lil something and check in with people, especially people interested in supercharging their M3.
In the last week i have done alot of hard driving, i am also at 17,500 miles on my car and installed the Gintani kit at 12,000 miles, so got 5,500 miles on car, lots of dynos, canyon runs, track, drag.
- Last sunday hit the famoso drag. The car performed flawlessly. There was one DCT limp mode and it only lasted for about 20-30 sec...was doing multiple runs in a row on street tires at first and spinning tires ALOT, hit redline in first and second..light came on...rolled down strip and halfway down it the light went off. When the light came in, pretty much the tranny disengaged,so if i hit gas no power was transfered to the transmission. when light came back on car was fine. So after each run i would drive the parking lot for less than 1min then go do next, problem never happend again. And in my opinion it is a good thing that it does that, obviously at the drag tranny get worked hard so its just keeping itself safe.
