This offer only goes until December 31, 2010 but if you have been waiting for purchase a Dinan stroker motor for your E60 M5 or E63 M6 now is the time. The stroker price has consistently come down since it was offered at $40k and now can be purchased for $30,999. In addition to the motor, Dinan is offering their high flow air mass meter/intake assemblies, underdrive pulley, exhaust, throttle bodies, and Stage 3 suspension system. Total value of the parts is about $10k and many would argue these parts should have been included for the price from the beginning (except for the suspension). This makes the stroker a far more attractive proposition. Contact Dinan if interested. ...Published on 12-18-2010 06:52 PM
Quite a few of this style of M3 comes through our doors, but with regard to publicity and attention the “sleeper” is a rare sight, which is actually just how the owners of such M3s would prefer it. We don’t take photos of some of these jobs, but I think everyone can appreciate an M3 that’s this discreet.

Singh Autosport is claiming they are the first tuner to program the S63 V8 twin turbo in the X6 M: "We were the first company to program the BMW X6M in North America." This is a completely false claim as OE Tuning has already proven to have tuned the motor months ago and several other tuners have programmed it as well. Singh Autosport is making this claim in December and they do not even have a dyno to back it up, just a picture of a laptop sitting in an X6. It seems not many people read the Singh blog so it has not been an issue but at BimmerBoost we like to keep tuners honest. Singh, please stop making inaccurate claims and let's see a dyno to prove you have actually done something, ok? ...Published on 12-16-2010 10:51 AM
This video from from BentleyPublishers explains how to test the exhaust camshaft position sensor on E46's equipped with the M54. The M54 has been out of production for some time now and many of the owners do their own work. This video is a great video for those trying to diagnose potential cam issues. ...Published on 12-16-2010 10:38 AM
This video shows the Dorr Motorsport Z4 GT3 in race action on the Nurburgring. The car passes just about everything it runs into. The commentary by the driver is in German and he sure does talk a lot, but just enjoy the racing if you can't speak German. ...Published on 12-16-2010 09:48 AM
BMW's hybrid, green "sports car" will reportedly cost around the $200k mark. That is a lot of dough for what is being touted as a supercar. With a hybrid drivetrain and a focus on efficiency, we just don't see this offering the performance a car in the $200k supercar segment should be. Remember, this is a hybrid diesel powertrain with horsepower in the low to mid 300 range. We will not judge it yet and wait for the final product but BMW's sales and marketing director is stating the car will, "redefine how we look at high-performance sports cars." If it doesn't perform like the other $200k offering, chances are we will be looking at other sports cars. ...Published on 12-15-2010 10:06 PM
We all know that BMW changed their stance on the 1M coupe being a very limited model. BMW is determined to up production to meet demand and sell a good number of the cars. Taking this into account, we decided to show a 1M Convertible which is not so far removed from reality. There is a good chance for BMW to produce this model and if they are going to milk the M brand they might as well go all the way. Check out the pics! ...Published on 12-14-2010 11:04 PM
If you are a BMW enthusiast, even in the slightest, you will appreciate a quality build like this. DCR's E30 M3 is simply one of the cleanest and best built custom turbo examples we have ever seen. The compression of the 2.5 liter motor was dropped to 8.1:1 and at just 9 psi it put down 265 whp. Impressive? Oh yes, and just take a look at that engine bay. We do not have many details on this car other than it is from Abu Dhabi. The car is a bit... overdone. It certainly takes our breath away just not in the good way, more in the choking kind of way. We do not have any more details to share other than the pictures. ...Published on 12-14-2010 05:41 AM

Several sites are reporting an unofficial lap time for the 1M coupe of 8 minutes and 12 seconds. This time is not confirmed and we do not yet know the driver and details but it does sound correct. This puts the 1M coupe at exactly the same pace as an E85 Z4 M coupe which was tested by EVO magazine at 8:12 around the ring. It is important to note when looking at ring times who the driver was and who tested it. Many BMW times are done by Sport Auto with Horst von Saurma driving for consistency and we will list some of those now to show how the 1M Coupe stacks up: ...Published on 12-12-2010 07:29 AM
Dinan is the first US tuner to release a tune specifically for the Alpina B7. This is great to see as the B7 uses larger turbos than the standard 750's. Dinan raises boost 4 psi, to 18psi total. The torque gain is about 100 lb-ft raising the total to 644. The price for this tune is $3,499. That is a bit steep for what we see as doing the exact same as their standard N63 tune, raising boost on the N63, which already retails for a steep $2,999. The $500 premium is likely due to it being an Alpina. Still, great to see a tune option for the B7 owners! ...Published on 12-11-2010 07:47 AM

We recently came across another meth kit being installed on an ESS supercharged M3. It is great to see more M3 owners embracing meth due to the added cooling and safety on the motor. Here you will see an install of an aquamist meth kit done by RS WORX. Supercharged M3 owners outside of Gintani have been some of the last in the BMW community to embrace meth due to being scared off by comments such as this by Roman@ESS: "Once you add a system like water / meth to the kit you increase not only the complexity and maintenance but you also increase your risk of having issues." We look forward to seeing more ESS customers adding meth to their high compression, supercharged applications. ...
