We wish more installers did these types of videos showing the work that goes into the installation of a kit. The VF420 supercharger kit is a 4 psi, non-intercooled kit yet you can see it still takes a lot of time and effort to install even without the intercooler. No dyno numbers for this particular car have been released and we are interested in seeing what the basic VF kit puts down. The VF420 retails for $5,900 and is easily upgradeable to the higher horsepower level kits. ...

There is a reason many of us likely would not hand a senior the keys to our performance BMW's, but that reason rarely is that they will take it on a drifting spree roasting the tires. Most of you guys are probably thinking an older person got behind the wheel and something bad happened. Well, in this case, a silver haired fox got in an E46 M3 and did her best Tanner Foust drifting impression. Check it out, pretty funny, but the video clearly is an advertising promotion. Even so, props to the Golden Girl. ...

Below you will find BMW's new video showing the F10 M5 being run at the test track. What is interesting is we get a nice shot of the tachometer showing the redline is indeed over 7000 rpm. What does this mean? Well, the S63 in the X5 and X6 M redlines at 6800 rpm so BMW has likely made some changes to shift the powerband more to the right. It looks like it gets up to about 7150 rpm from the video. The launch control function is also shown in action and seems to launch at about 4000 rpm, check it out below. ...

There have not been too many aftermarket options for E92 headlights. Most offerings consisted of just changing the bulbs to alter the color of the angel eyes. OSS was really the only option to change the housing and look of the angel eyes themselves, until now. MAC offers several packages to choose from including just changing to the Orb style LED rings, Euro projector lenses, carbon bezels, or to LCI style turn signals. These do not come cheap however as the full package will run $3000, ouch. Options and pricing below. ...

As it stands, there is only 1 real supercharger option for the S85 V10 based BMW vehicles and that is G-power. There are two options on the horizon, ESS and Gintani. Both have been taking a VERY long time to come to market and both were already supposed to be available. Completely understandable they are delayed with a motor with the high compression and complexity of the S85. We know both are still works in progress but these two will likely be the best value forced induction options with the basic ESS kit rumored to have an MSRP of under $10k. Sit tight, no word yet on when either will hit the market. ...

With the most revealing spy photos yet of the F30 having hit the web recently, it was only natural for rendering of the design to follow. AutoBild has done some great rendering work and we think they are on to something. You can clearly see that the design borrows a lot from the F10 5 series. The rear lights are almost too similar but BMW is returning to conservative styling keeping the models similar to one another. If the real thing looks like this, job well done. ...

If you are not familiar with this vehicle do not worry about it as few are. The BMW Nazca C2 is a concept car created in the early 90's with only 3 having been constructed. It was designed by famous design house ItalDesign. The car features a 5.0 liter V12 based on the motor out of the E31 850. It was designed as a mid-engine supercar which would be an answer to the other early 90's supercars (XJ220). It was never produced, but you can buy one of the three original concept cars for a cool 720,000 Euros if you desire. ...

We are a little surprised with these results. The car here belongs to BimmerBoost members akh23456 and he was kind of enough to send us the dyno graphs. We have been following his Active Autowerke Stage 2 build which was completed by Maximum PSI and now have the independent dyno results. In SAE correction the car hit 499 whp, not cracking 500 on any run. Runs were done in 4th and 5th gears and the car is a DCT. The higher number you see on the graph here is the best 5th gear run vs. the best 4th gear run, take a look. ...

The future of BMW tuning is going to be based around turbo motors. The decision was made, so time to get comfortable with it. Two motors that will be at the heart of BMW tuning for some time to come will be the N63 4.4 liter V8 and the S63 which is the M version based on it. These motors will be powering the vast majority of M cars as well as the higher end BMW's for some time to come. With the F10 M5 set to hit interest in tuning this powerplant will only grow. ...

You might be saying, what is Veritas? Well, valid question. Veritas was originally a famous race car company known predominantly in the era after World War II. They disappeared for about 50 years only for the name to be revived by a German company. They are producing a roadster and now a coupe which will be using a BMW N63/S63 based motor. Cool? Yes, but nothing anyone will realistically be purchasing with a sticker price somewhere over $500,000. ...

We don't know what is going on. All wheel drive M5's? We thought BMW was getting back to their core values but it seems they are all over the place still. Autocar reports that their BMW source has confirmed the M5 will get all wheel drive in the near future. What does this mean? Well, it means the M5 is going to get heavier but if there is a market for the Panamera turbo no doubt the M5 with all wheel drive will find its buyers as well. The M5 is set to be revealed this year at the Frankfurt Auto Show, the AWD version should be officially introduced months after that. ...

The latest set of spyphotos were released and the web is in a tizzy over BMW revealing a little more of the F30 3 series design. These are the best spy pictures thus far and give you an idea of the proportions as well as the front and rear light design. Nothing ground breaking although the car does seem to be a bit large, you might guess 5 series if you did not know it was a 3. Expect the 335 to have N55 6 cylinder turbo based power. ...

Akrapovic released a teaser video a little while back showing that they planned to compare the E92 M3 vs. the BMW S1000RR motorcycle. Both machines were outfittted with Akrpovic exhausts, obviously, as this is a promotional piece. The Akrapovic exhaust sure adds a great tone to both. The video is pretty well done, we won't spoil the result for you. ...

Recently, Jim O'Donnel was quoted in an article about the ActiveE by The Detroit News. In the article, the head of BMWNA responded candidly with his thoughts on electric vehicles. One quote was that he felt diesels were far more likely to be adopted than electrics stating he was "far more optimistic" about their chances. He went on to say, "(EVs) won't work for most people. For at least 90 percent and maybe more of the population, (an EV) won't work (at the current battery range)." ...

What you see in the video below is BMW's garage housing 35 identical white E92 M3's. All of them are the same color and all have the same Nurburgring Driver Experience decals. The program is pretty cool with BMW letting you take an M3 out on the ring to get the full feel of a lap with an M car. You can even use your own M vehicle if you would like to (we sure would). Pricing is 900 Euros if you use your own vehicle or 1200 if you use one of the white M3's. For the price you get 4 hours on the ring and a BMW instructor. Courses for drivers with racing ambitions are also available. ...
