We have completed our rapid prototype testing and are happy to report that we will be sending our HPF N54 intake manifold off to production next week with an expected genearl release date of May 2012. This new manifold allows everyone to run a secondary fuel system in conjunction with the N54 direct injection or turn the direct injection off and just run a standard fuel system. We will be selling the fuel rails and injectors that fit with our rail but anyone can source their own if they so desire. ...

News on the HPF single turbo 335 N54 kit had died down for a while but HPF renewed interest by posting photos of their currently development. Rest assured, it is coming. What struck us is that Chris (owner of HPF) stated they intend to get this motor over 800 wheel horsepower. A lofty goal indeed as fueling and tuning solutions still need to take place. If anyone is going to make it happen it looks like a good bet is HPF. ...

These are some very impressive results. The M3 used is a DCT as which has slightly higher drivetrain losses than the manual making cracking 400 whp in naturally aspirated form on 91 octane quite the achievement. The baseline for the M3 was 351 whp, spot on. With an air filter and under drive pulley it hit 367 wheel horsepower. With the addition of a GIAC tune and exhaust including X-pipe the car hit 400 whp for a gain of 49 horsepower at the wheels, very nice. The car will be tested next with an Evolve tune and we will report how it compares to the GIAC. ...

Here are some pictures of our "NEW" single 3.5" exhaust "with Resonator" for the BMW 335i. Our previous versions did not include the resonator and many people that have our Gen 1 versions wanted it to be a little quieter. People also wanted a better price. Not only did we accomplish both of these goals, we also kept the extremely high quality as you can see from the pictures below. We offer both flame style and polished titanium tips. ...

This comes hot on the heels of the leaked out M550d horsepower figures. BMW released a teaser video showing an X6 "M" version with all the good details specifically blocked out. It sure looks to us like this is the X6 M550d or X6 M50d whatever the name will end up being. Just like the 5 series with the triple turbo diesel expect 381 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. This actually makes a heck of a lot more sense if going for "efficient dynamics" than the X6M ever did and is a very exciting development. We just hope it comes to the USA, fingers crossed. ...

G-power tends to make a lot of announcements with big, bold claims. Their recently revealed X6M Typhoon does not break this mold. G-power states their V3 performance kit ups the horsepower in the twin turbo S63 V8 to 725 and torque to 656 pound-feet. There is no dyno to substantiate this power claim they say they get with a tune, manifolds, and exhaust. From the dyno's we have seen claiming 175 horsepower gained with those modifications alone is not happening but no mainstream sites bother to question G-power's unsubstantiated claims. ...

Well, this has been a rather lengthy road to completion but the transmission is basically complete. The car was dropped off by SSP last month to Gintani who should have the motor in by the end of this week. The problem is SSP mounted their trans cooler in the location the heat exchanger for the supercharger needs to go so SSP will need to come to Gintani's facility to re-run their lines as the cooler will need to go in a different location. What took so long for this update? Well, we have been waiting, and waiting, and waiting for SSP to send us details on the Viton seals that required 3 redesigns but never received the information on why these seals are superior to the stock units. ...

Well, we are glad something is being done about the Pacific BMW Employees who took a brand new 1M for a joyride through the streets of Glendale. Yahoo reports that Vacheh Margoussian (21) was the driver and Artin Yazidjian (22) filmed. Margoussian will face a reckless driving charge along with another misdemeanor charge. No word yet on if Pacific BMW has returned the money they took from the owner in the form of a $10k markup. ...

This is a video of the F10 M5 gauge cluster as it accelerates from a stand still to 300 km/h. For those not familiar with KPH 300 works out to 186 miles per hour. Launch control is not used on the car and it spins the tires noticeably from the standstill which is no surprise. Once it hooks it moves pretty fast but does start to slow a bit up top. Still, hitting 186 MPH as quickly as it does clearly shows there is a lot of horsepower at work here. A video of a CLS63 with a tune accelerating from 0-300 is provided for comparison. ...

Well, that was fast. The boost only 1/4 mile record for the E9X M3 barely stood for a week before being broken. VAC Motorsports managed to raise the bar by almost 2 tenths with a run of 11.1@126.99. They also set the new E9X M3 60 foot record breaking BimmerBoost's own 1.781 with a 1.776. Very impressive results for a DCT M3 with a full Fabspeed exhaust, Mickey Thompson drag radials, and a VF620 supercharger kit. Congratulations to VF-Engineering and VAC. ...

Very nice results for this RMS Stage 2 supercharged E39 M5 that belongs to Buckhead Imports Performance. The vehicle dyno'd an impressive 535 wheel horsepower on a Dyno Dynamics and ran the 1/4 mile in 11.7@122. We must say it is very nice to finally see some positive results with RMS built/tuned hardware on the E39 M5. This supercharger kit will eventually be on sale to the public and we will bring you more details then as this is a promising start. Enjoy the pictures and video below. ...

Here is the new AC Schnitzer ACS6 coupe based on the F12 650i. AC Schnitzer claims to raise output to 540 horsepower although we seriously doubt that especially without any evidence to support it. AC Schnitzer pretty much never supports their power claims so no surprise there. The main feature is the aero kit which consists of a front spoiler add-on, trunk spoiler, and a rear diffuser designed around the ACS exhaust (which sounds awesome, check out the video). Overall the body pieces are nice additions but we would like to see a dyno or details on their claimed power upgrades. ...

In an earlier article we reported that the 550dx was rumored to get 500+ horsepower. We were skeptical and stated that previous 400 horsepower and 550 pound-foot of torque numbers sounded far more realistic. Well, turns out that is exactly the case as the final numbers are 381 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque for the triple turbo diesel powerplant. Disappointing? Yes, as the hype for this car was out of control. This motor is mated to all wheel drive as previously reported which will help put all that torque down. Expect to see this engine make its way into other BMW models like the X-series shortly. ...
