Good news for F30 owners who already have suspension options courtesy of Eibach. The first and likely most popular component will be their lowering springs. The springs offer a drop of approximately 30mm. For a more aggressive look 5mm spacers are also available. The coil-overs are still under development but feature Eibach springs mated to Bilstein shocks. The two coil-over options are the B12 Pro-Kit and B12 Sportline. The Sportline springs offer a more aggressive drop and ride. ...

This is the Hamann body kit for the F12 BMW 6 Series. Hamann as of late has been bit too aggressive but these parts seem to work with the new BMW 6 well. The parts include a new front bumper with integrated LED's (everyone seems to be doing LED's), side skirts, spoiler, and rear bumper designed to show off the Hamann exhaust tips. Hamann 21 inch wheels with 255/30/21 front tires and 295/25/21 rear tires. Overall, pretty well done exterior and interior offering by Hamann. ...

Here are some dyno graphs from the HPF M3 back on 10/21/2011 with the Precision 8285. The results would have been a bit higher had we run standard rear tires. The rear tires we were running are the big tall heavy 345s on 13" wide wheels. These runs were at 30psi. We were definitely running into a flow restriction in the Steed Speed turbo manifold after 1,000rwhp and we can't run the HPF cast version because it can't be installed in two sections which make it possible to fit the 8285 without removing the engine. ...

Well, the supply of the X1 seems to have gone up so the USA will finally get the entry level SUV. It will be officially revealed at the New York Auto Show but here is the online reveal early. The X1 will be available in two trims, one with the new N20 turbo 4 cylinder (X1 xDrive28i) and one with the N55 turbo 6 cylinder (X1 xDrive35i). With a curb weight in the 37XX range the vehicle is lighter than the X3 making for an SUV that will be a lot of fun to drive. Unfortunately, it does not look anywhere near as good as the X3. Press release below. ...

Auto Motor Und Sport already leaked the photos out yesterday of the Spyder but here are the official details and pictures from BMW. Specs are the same as the coupe with 354 horsepower (131 from the eletric motor) from the hybrid powertrain. It can travel 19 miles on electricity alone before the gasoline motor turns on to charge the batteries. The Spyder has 50-50 weight distribution and gets around 78 miles per gallon. Press release below. ...

It seems that BMW does not just want to produce a coupe version of the i8 but a Spyder as well to increase the potential market for the car. Fine by us as this is going to be an expensive car to be seen in to begin with so dropping the top is logical. The main question was if the gullwing style doors would still be there (as Mercedes went to traditional doors for the SLS convertible) and we are happy to report they still are. Pictures of what is said to be the concept are from Auto Motor Und Sport and they show the rear seats are deleted with the Spyder. ...

Before we delve into the details of what is coming in the next gen M3 platform, we found it interesting Insideline (who usually is closer to enthusiast nomenclature than most) titled this piece and renderings with "M3 Coupe." Is this an error or an effort to make the articles easier to read for the masses? Enthusiast sites seem to be in agreement the the next generation M3 platform coupe will be called the M4 and receive its own F82 code/designation. Major blogs have all also reported BMW is adding a 4 series which will of course be the new 3 Series coupe platform essentially. So what gives, especially considering they mention the M4 and F82 at the bottom of the article? ...

This car simply looks like it means business, aggressive. We have not seen many black Vorsteiner GTRS3 M3 widebody cars let alone convertible versions. The kit comes off very well in black which makes the huge arches looks cleaner. Filling said arches out are 20 inch Vorsteiner VS-350 wheels at 10.5 inches wide up front and 12.5 inches wide in back. The rubber used measures 285/25 up front and 325/25 in back. The end result is a great looking E93 M3. ...

First of all, both of these cars sound awesome and have some of the best naturally aspirated motors in the business. These vehicles both have stock exhausts and they really open up and show what they are capable of when their muffled stock exhausts are dumped. It makes for an interesting comparison though and we have to say the S85 V10 sounds much better stock for stock versus the M156 V8 in the C63 AMG. ...

No M version of the BMW i8 is coming. Kind of disappointing as it would be nice to finally have a halo M car or BMW supercar so to speak. The 1.5 liter turbo 3 cylinder has been upped to 223 horsepower and 295 pound-feet or torque. The total horsepower rating is now 393 horses and 406 lb-ft of torque. That is more like it! The car will also be switchable from front, to rear, to all wheel drive at the drivers discretion. Imagine using all wheel drive only from a stop for example. ...

First of all, congratulations to Mike Radowski of Maximum PSI. We know of only one faster street BMW in the United States that edged this out by just 1 MPH. There are only a couple quicker cars in the 1/4 that have run in the low 9 second range. This trap speed puts the vehicle above almost everything out there and with the claim of pump fuel in the video (E85 ethanol was mixed in though) 160 mile per hour trap speeds and 8's appear to be around the corner for street BMW's. ...

N63 V8 tuning has been rather tough to come by. For now, Dinan has been pretty much the only option, at least in the USA. Evotech is not a USA based tuner (they are out of Germany) but it is nice to see the N63 getting more attention from various parties. This is a Stage II tune from them on an F10 550i put on their MAHA dyno. The baseline was 393.7, right inline with the crank rating, and the tune raised this to 522.4. Certainly impressive and we are starting get used to these MAHA dyno graphs. ...

Here is a comparison from German publication AutoBild in which they compare the new F10 M5 to the E63 AMG with the Performance Package option as well as the Jaguar XFR and Cadillac CTS-V. The M5 comes out on top with the fastest laptime as well as the quickest acceleration figures. This is surprising considering how close the standard 63 AMG's with the new M157 twin turbo V8 are to the F10 M5 let alone those with the Performance Package. ...

BMW has won the ALMS GT championship the past two years in a row. Impressive? Absolutely. Now they begin their quest for a three-peat and it is off to a good start with a victory at this past weekends 12 Hours of Sebring. The winning M3 GT was driven by Joey Hand who completed an intense final two laps to get BMW its second straight Sebring victory. We will see if BMW Team RLL can keep this up in the highly competitive ALMS GT class (with Corvette Racing coming on strong). The next race is the Long Beach Grand Prix April 13-15. ...

The M6 Gran Coupe is rendered here courtesy of Theophiluschin. Yes, the car is coming as it has been spotted testing and we should see a reveal by the end of the year. So if in the market for an M5 should someone wait for this instead? Well, it is likely going to be much more expensive as 6 cylinder 640i Gran Coupe starts at $76,895. It may be a little lighter than the M5 though as the 640i weighs 4191 pounds. Really, once the bigger brakes, wheels, and motor are added it seems the weight will be a wash. It definitely will look sportier though, check out the renderings below. ...
