    • BMW reveals their 2018 24 Hour of Le Mans entry the M8 GTE

BMW teased their M8 GTE race car back in August. Well, here it is and the design is striking and points to an aggressive M8 street car. Hopefully that street car is inspired by the M8 GTE race car in more ways than one.

What is the powerplant? A twin turbo 4.0 liter V8 said to make over 500 horsepower.

Thanks to extensive use of carbon fiber the dry weight 2690 pounds. Imagine or a moment if BMW M could keep a street car under 3000 pounds.

When will we see it race? The 2018 24 Hour of Le Mans was already mentioned. In addition you will see it in the World Endurance Championship, IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship, and various other race series that incorporate a GTE/GTLM class.

A very cool race car, no doubt. Now how about making a street legal M8 with an emphasis on top of the line performance?
