    • Syvecs officially (and finally) releases their BMW N54 standalone engine managment Plug and Play ECU kit

They finally did it. Last year Syvecs stated the N54 ecu would be delayed until Spring 2017. Early this year they stated they would not provide a timetable but that the ECU was still coming. A smart move, they worked on it without having to constantly provide updates or meet a deadline.

That work is completed and here it is:

We are happy to present the new Syvecs Ltd BMW N54 PnP kit.

The Syvecs BMW N54 Kit brings a new level of engine management control with the worlds first fully integrated standalone ECU.

This kit will support the following vehicles:

      BMW 135

      BMW 335

      BMW 1M

Based on our S6Plus ECU, the N54 will now benefit from all of the features that our S6Plus has to offer. These features will include but are not limited to:

Ability to select desired engine map, boost level, traction and launch control levels through our 8 Position switch or via OEM Cruise control levers.

Supports both manual and DSG transmissions.

Fully adjustable launch control with anti-lag strategies and Ramp in Maps.

Flat Shifting (No need to remove foot from pedal sensor on shifting)

      Flex Fuel control integration.

The ability to control aftermarket high pressure and low pressure pumps.

      Full Variable Valve Timing control

Closed loop dual lambda control using OEM lambdas.

We would like to apologise to all of the owners and garages who have waited patiently over the last 18 months whilst we worked on solving some of the more complicated issues the BMW platform presented.

We have now managed to implement full BSD networking, which in turn allows the ECU to communicate with the alternator, reading of the oil levels and oil temperature.

This along with creating a smaller Piezo injector driver was the main reason for delay with the launching of the kit.

The new Piezo driver has also now been finished, a redesigned smaller unit allows it to fit in the OEM ECU location.

After extensive testing with our Beta testers, the ECU has now been run in both extremely cold and hot climates around the world.

The kits are currently in stock and available to purchase.

It is interesting to note that the E60 is not supported. Additionally, while Syvecs states they have these in stock they do not list the pricing. BimmerBoost will get you that information shortly.

A new era of N54 engine and transmission control is finally here.

That's huge and so is the control of the trans.

Basically, pair this ECU with a DCT and the N54 will finally kick ass.

There won't be any DCT tuning issues either. Plus you can run whatever upgraded version you want and program it however you want.

Higher rpm launch control, lower rpm, whatever.

Anyone bothering with the automatic is wasting their time.

No Z4 support is interesting/odd as well.

What do you need to know? No different then FlexFuel with a Motec, ProEFI, AMS, Holley Dominator, etc.; run any mix of ethanol from normal pump gas to E100 and the tune will automatically adjust.

Still surprised that there's "officially" no Auto support; but this definitely makes a DCT swap much more attractive

        • The ability to control aftermarket high pressure and low pressure pumps.

Does this mean it can control port injection?

I may be wrong here, but I don't think "supports" for DSG (DCT) means "full control," but rather simply communicates with the DCT TCU correctly.

Thanks, man. I guess MHD+JB4 won't be needed if I will go with Syvecs. Sorry Haven't been keeping up with n54 since the p-car purchase.

This is just in time for me as I was talking to wifey about getting my son a car. I will get a manual n54, transfer all the M bits, inlet/outlet/FBO from my existing e90 over, get Pure turbos and supporting mods with it and should have a decent DD ;-)

From what I saw you can program almost anything you like and even pair the DCT to different engines.

The RRP is 3600 but this is UK pricing, USA will be different and down to dealer as Import duties, calibrating and shipping will vary

The Z4 btw has just not been tested yet, it most likely will work fine but until we have tested on that vehicle not happy to sell.

Even with different engines, that's still because Syvecs would be communicating with the DCT TCU properly.

What I'm getting at is there's a huge difference between it just communicating with the DCT TCU (likely), and actually functioning as it's own standalone TCU (unlikely).

Only time will tell when someone actually tests this, I'm sick of being guinea pig.

Waiting patiently for someone that actually to tune one of these and independently review it.

If its all they say it is, its going to open a plethora of options for the n54 scene.
