    • Evolve E39 M5 S62 V8 Rotrex C38-91 supercharger kit dyno results at 6.5 psi with Aquamist water injection - 600 horsepower

Evolve's Rotrex based BMW supercharger kits are some of the best in the business. If you are into reliability, throttle response, and good looking torque curves it is hard to argue against them. Evolve's E39 kit has been on the market for a bit but here are some dyno results for the S62 kit at 6.5 psi.

Keep in mind this is on an otherwise stock car and with the Aquamist setup only injecting water:

That is another 200+ horsepower over the stock baseline on their Dyno Dynamics and just shy of 600 horsepower. Not bad for a bolt on kit and water injection, right?

With E39 M5 prices what they are (this will be a future collector M5) picking one up and adding a blower is not a bad way to go. It is the best M5 of all time after all.

The Evolve E39 M5 Supercharger Kit features the following components:

      • Rotrex C38-91 Supercharger (1100 CFM)
      • CNC Ultra Aluminium Bracket with integrated Cooling Hose
      • CNC Aluminium Crank Pulley
      • 8-Rib Belt Drive
      • 270 Degree Belt Wrap
      • 8 x Larger Bosch Injectors
      • Pre-preg Carbon Fibre Flow optimised intake system
      • Side Mount Air to Air Intercooler with modified arch liners (stage 2)
      • TIAL 50mm Blow Off Valve
      • Evolve AlphaN ECU programme
      • Plenum Breather system
      • Power Steering Relocation Kit
      • Clamps, Silicone Hoses and fitting kit
      • Optional CNC Billet Plenum
      • Fog Light Delete recommended for optimal cooling.

Stage 1 Intercooled (can be used with stock metal plenum) - 5 PSI TO 5.5 PSi - 530-550 crank HP
Stage 2 Intercooled (recommended to have Evolve CNC Plenum) - 6 PSi TO 7 PSi - 575-610 crank horsepower

These kits have been a disaster and the biggest disappointment in the E39 M5 world. Being left to hang on tuning, parts missing, and incorrect pulley alignment are only a few of the issues known with these kits. Unacceptable for a kit costing 10K+.

That sounds extremely uncharacteristic for evolve. What is your source?

FWIW, i've had nothing but exceptional customer service from Evolve.

With the Rotrex this kit would be the perfect for an E39 M5. I wanted this kit in the worst way and was ready to buy it but figured I would wait and see how it worked out after someone started an install thread for this kit. The owner went through hell and back with multiple forum members having to jump in to clean up the mess. The saga is on the other forums. I don't know if it is appropriate to link it from here but it is not hard to find.

Honestly, I've never seen bad customer service or hardware from Evolve. Let's at least get their side.
