    • AWRON's BMW N54 engine conversion package - Swap an N54 motor into any BMW

You might remember a BMW E9 posted last month with an N54 engine under the hood. Awron made that swap possible as they supply the electronics to manage the engine. This N54 conversion package essentially facilitates an N54 swap into almost any BMW.

Obviously newer models are more problematic due to the electronics but if you have dreamt about an E30 M3 with an N54 (why would you do that?) Awron can help facilitate it. Want an E39 with an N54? No problem. What about a classic X5? That can be done too. Basically, whatever you can come up with and it doesn't even have to be a BMW.

Awron provides electronics for a variety of swaps including one BimmerBoost detailed earlier this year which was an S63 twin turbo V8 going into an E63 M6.

What is the cost of this swap kit? Well, that part was not included. BimmerBoost is waiting on a response from Awron regarding the pricing and as soon as they respond (the European time difference makes quick communication difficult) an update will be posted.

The stuff these guys do with electronics to facilitate a variety of swaps is amazing.

They have some crazy projects going on...

I imagine it converts signals from the DME to gauge cluster and other vehicle electronics and vice versa to keep the DME Happy.

I think I posted in the other thread, I had inquired about a swap for my E39 wagon. If I wanted to buy a complete package with the engine it was 14,851 Euro. If I wanted just the conversion package and custom tuning, it was 4,620 Euros. I have the emails if you want me to put them up @Sticky

Does it come with a transmission?

When you can get a clean N54 car for significantly less than that it seems like a lot. haha

The amount the motor costs in the conversion is really up to you. Just pick one up at a junkyard I guess.

$5k or so for the electronics isn't bad.

That was buying a slightly modified engine, their own airbox and inlet pipes (the orange pieces in the setup), a transmission/clutch/flywheel, and all the sensors and electronics. Which it comes out to close to that if I source all the parts myself...

What you see in that intial picture is what you get supplied with for 15k euros.

Here's the PDFs, First one is the overview of the kit, second is the conversion price (tailored to my needs) and the last one is the complete conversion.

You could prolly buy an auction car that was hit in the rear for cheaper and youd have everything ready to go.

I sourced my conversion for an E39 so my cooling setup is somewhat different and would require some thinking to get the coolant hoses to work, the factory fan(E39 is belt driven), and the signal request to turn the A/C Compressor on. Im sure they wouldnt have an issue figuring it out though.

I think this is awesome, take an old e30 drop an N54 in it and you got a nice sleeper.
