    • Somebody swapped a Honda F22C into a BMW 2002 and added a big turbo because boost

Putting the Honda F22C motor under the hood of a classic BMW 2002 actually makes a bit of sense and it has been done before. Back when BimmerBoost covered BimmerFest 2013 there was a 2002 there with an F20C swap and a license plate that read '9500RPM.'

The F20/F22 motors look right at home in the 2002 engine bay. As BMW never produced a modern high revving naturally aspirated I4 M engine the S2000's engines make pretty good swap candidates that maintain the spirit of the E30 M3 S14 motor.

This particular owner decided that the 2.2 liter 8200+ rpm screamer was not enough on its own and added a big top mount turbo for good measure.

What are the specs? How much power? What fuel? What turbo? Who did the tuning? All good questions. Hopefully we eventually get some answers.

      A badass swap regardless.

        That's a pretty cool swap.

I wonder if anyone has ever swapped in an Audi I5 turbo in any BMW chassis.

Hello, it's a 1973 BMW 2002 with an F22c built by inline pro to handle 1.200hp, it has a precision 6466, rear mounted radiator a m3 e30 medium case differential built by Catuned, with a custom made driveshaft shop driveshaft, the car is currently in Cuenca, Ecuador and we are waiting for the dyno test that will be done next week, the ecu is an aem infinity with chasebays custom harness.

the idea is to have a 2.200lb car with 750hp to the wheels, I'll post more videos next week.

        This is an awesome project.

I really look forward to seeing more pics and that dyno!
