    • BMS increases output of their JB4 tuned 2016 F10 BMW 550i N63TU to 570 rwhp with BCM

      You may remember this 550i from a video earlier this month where it pulled away from a stock F10 M5. Additionally, last month on the dyno with JB4 tuning the car produced 511 rear wheel horsepower and 621 lb-ft of rear wheel torque.


      Well, with the addition of their BCM (Boost Control Module) BMS is able to increase horsepower to 570 at the wheels and torque to 632 lb-ft at the wheels:


      That is a big change in power and it is maxing out the 2.5bar TMAP sensor according to Terry@BMS:

      The only drawback with the BCM is you need to cut an OEM wire to install it. It will likely remain an optional part of the n63tu JB4 system, but if you're looking for big gains, it made a huge difference. So much so that we are maxing out the factory 2.5bar TMAP sensors. Fortunately the JB4 can run 3.5bar TMAP sensors. We'll be swapping over soon
      It looks like there might be more in it. The curve isn't the prettiest and it pretty much is all about gains down low with peak horsepower coming in the mid-range and falling off toward redline.

      A turbo upgrade might do this car wonders.

        damn! over 500whp from 2400rpm to 5650rpm...
        Maybe an intake and some DP's will help it hold boost up top more.

        this set up on an xdrive model is damn near a G30 M5, i wonder how the transmission is holding up?

        This should be right in line with a C7 Audi S6. The difference is it cost $5,000 to get the Audi to this level of power. For $5,000 you can strap Pure Stage 2's on the N63TU... Be interesting to see that combo.

        The numbers at the bottom of the graph are actually time in seconds, not RPM. I'd be interested to see it plotted in RPM.

        Hmm how reliable are the N63TU's? I know the N62 and normal N63 are pretty much nightmares.
        I don't know if I would trust the tranny on this thing either, I have heard of a few trans failures in the 550's.

        On the numbers we're happy with them so far. Plan to add in 3.5bar TMAP sensors soon as well as WMI, to see how much power this factory transmission can really hold. Click here to enlarge

        The dead giveaway for me was that it makes 400 ft/lbs of torque at 300 RPM. Goddamn diesel tugboat motor LOL.

        I think you are about right but should be closer to 4300 pounds.

        With that much torque it might hit the 10's if it hooks up.
