    • Big Boost Turbo shooting for 800+ whp Stage 3.5 built motor N55 with a Precision 6968 turbocharger

The year of the N55 continues. BimmerBoost covered the Big Boost Turbo N55 turbo upgrade option last month. They certainly are showing impressive numbers with over 620 horsepower to the wheels on the stock internal N55 motor.

They are ready to push forward to the next level though with a built motor option with the goal of 800+ horsepower to the wheels. Here are their built motor options:

Stage 3.4 will have options of 6564 or 6768 turbochargers
Stage 3.5 will go with a 6968 turbocharger.

Ok, that sounds good but saying you will do something and doing it is completely different. Thus far, we have yet to see built motor N55's making big power although that does not mean it will not happen.

Hopefully @Juan@Big_Boost_turbo will share more details (along with an improved web presence) but 2017 should deliver the most powerful N55's the BMW aftermarket has ever seen.

        HI!
We also want to announce our second N55 build just began Saturday, the project in the pictures posted is on hold as we are slipping the clutches, just too much power! We are planning on get an upgraded pack to get the boost up to 30+ psi!

Is this semi-closed deck (I think that's how it should be classified) on the factory version of the engine or is that part of their development?

It looks like they did work to the block. This is the N55 block from the factory:

Are there pictures with out the head gasket on that I am missing? The ones in the first post look like a stock block with the head gasket sitting on top.

This is the factory head gasket, right?

Yeah, it doesn't look like are doing a semi-closed deck at this time.

Yeah, it even says N55 on the gasket in the first pics. I doubt anyone would run a stock gasket if it was closed.

Has there been any head work on this engine? Or just keep upping the boost?

We run a stock N54 head gasket on our closed deck motor. This motor is 100% stock block, just photos with the head gasket sitting on top of it.
