    • PAW Motorsport offers N54 ported/polished cylinder head upgrade - $3995

PAW Motorsport is offering a cylinder head upgrade for N54 based BMW vehicles. There is a substantial gain in port flow velocity without a sacrifice in low lift situations. Flowbench charts show an increase of about 35% with gains from 161 cfm to 227 cfm. Both intake and exhaust ports have been ported and polished along with modified intake and exhaust valves. The claimed power gains with the head alone are in the 40 hp range. Charts and pictures are below.

Expect before and after results on a PAW DCT N54 project car in the next few weeks. For those interested in this upgrade there is a core charge in the $2800 range which obviously is refunded when the core is received.

You are barely old enough to drive let alone drink or watch 'ladies' (what a lady means to you I'm not sure I think that would be like illegal as hell for me to watch) dance. But I'm with you on the relaxing part Click here to enlarge

BTW, Just because its cheaper to do things in another country than it is here, you can not blame anyone on either side. I'm not going to blame myself for moving to Thailand and living extremely well on a six figure in come where as here in the states it doesn't really add a whole lot to your over say 60k a year.

Uh, bud, you don't know what you are talking about: http://www.bimmerboost.com/showthrea...993#post100993

But this thread is about PAW's cylinder head upgrade, not incorrect assertions.

Okaaay buddy, then go to your guy down the street and let him work on your 50k dollar BMW.
Case in point, I have a local vendor on the other forum that quoted my customer 300 bucks to install a clutch in his 335. I was like WTF are you kidding me? I gave him my price and said I wouldn't go below that. He called me the next morning and scheduled an appointment. Sometimes people do learn Click here to enlarge

        $300? Thats like a $38/hr labor rate(for 8hrs) Thats scary.

But you're doing it, so at least your making your money and someone is getting their moneys worth for the job! He's installing another stock clutch or an upgrade?

Upgrade. He scored a brand new ACT clutch in the box for 400. Can't beat that!

i think they are fairly priced. i just need data to quantify the expense at my level. i mean, im sure there is improvement, but at this point in time, 20hp for 4k +plus install, because we dont have the fuel to go beyond and use them to full potential, is not justifiable to me (or more imprtantly the mrs) at this point

This data will be coming, paired with the RB's, so particularly applicable to you.

I emailed them a few weeks ago, informed them about my setup ect. and i got a generic answer with pricing info. Ill just have to wait and see how this other RB guy does first I guess.

They didn't have it all worked out a few weeks ago with the data and pricing as you can see.

I can put you in touch with the right people and get you right info, pm me.

I dont see a reason to go with both RBs and the PAW head on a stock fuel system, the fuel system is practically maxed out with just a chip and bolt ons; motor work is going to require more fuel and tuning which is where most of the struggle is with BMW engines.

All you need is upgraded fuel pump, head and turbos.

Well if there ever is a fuel solution this will make a lot of sense but it does now as well.

The benefits on pump will be seen.
