    • DCT Build Part VIII - Putting it back together

As of right now, the transmission is completed and the cooling system is in the process of being completed. Where we left off was the car being taken to SSP for the build of the cooling system. To make this all make sense we will not skip ahead, instead showing you each step. Here SSP is getting ready to put it together with the new clutch discs. They laid out all the parts and used 3d scanning equipment to record them to aid in the production of the parts. Everything was laid out to make sure the parts were clean and accounted for. Additionally, they were working on prototype viton seals for the transmission. The next update will have details on the cooling system.

This makes setting up pullies very difficult as i was running a 2.75" to get decent boost. With the F1 you would be in the 3.25" range making belt life much better. Thats my $.02 "

For the YSI," I've tried the YSi, F1A, F1C and F1R. All the F series blowers are loud. The YSi-it's loud-but not as obnoxious.

They will all make over 850 rwhp, F1C, F1R and YSi-will make over 900.
F1R is the baddest $#@! of them all, the YSi and F1C are right behind it.

Any of these blowers are 8 second capable, the F1R is 7 second capable.

No matter which of these blowers you choose the belt is going to have to be damn tight and the pulley's aligned 100% or your going to have issues.

        Currently-I'm enjoying my YSi.

        Yep, I've read that thread.

From what I gather they are all badass blowers.

The thing is, the Procharger F1's seem to be able to spin higher and support more HP.

Hehe I know, I'm just giving him a hard time, lol. I know quite a bit about gallardos. I'm thinking about taking on a salvage one as a project next year. I saw a stripped one(lights hood doorswheels etc), no collision sell for 39k. My passion is in the build just like everyone else.

If you're gonna do it, do it right. The YSi is nearly maxed out with your setup so might as well get the procharger. Those blowers also dont need engine oil which is a huge plus. I find the sound they make intoxicating too.

Switching to a procharger after they spent time making the YSI bracket will create a bit of a delay.

What is wrong with 1200 hp?

Nothing, but a YSI won't support that on an S65.

If a YSI can't support S65, well go with a procharger. you waited this long to gather the very best options together, it worth waiting a bit more in my opinion.

It can, it is just that as DBFIU correctly calculated the blower is being maxed around 18-19 psi.

Wasn't the trans supposed to be finished on Monday? Is it all done already?

Man, I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like waiting for the car to come back! Glad to hear it's almost back in your garage.

Well how much longer will it need to be in their garage before it's back in yours?

Well if we start getting carried away with ProCharger talk... a while.

This is why it is probably best for me to go with the YSI that works, enjoy it, get some numbers, then go big(er).

I want this car done by the end of September.

will be quite awesome if some FBO n54's rape your car.

do you have any plans for weight?

Good stuff. If you can make 800whp with the smaller blower I'd stick with that as truly sticky if your trying to get over 1khp your gonna have to probably make a good bit of changes to the rest of the drivetrain and also do you have a roll cage in their already? 1,000whp will easily get you into the 9's but that means a 10 point. It never ends, trust me on my drag car I started out saying I'd be happy with 600whp now I'm trying to make 1200whp and that won't be enough to compete in X275 where everyone is making 1500+hp. I should have gotten the car finished months ago and been enjoying it. Besides if you've never driven a car with that power it should be plenty fast for a good while. Theres always someone faster.

No roll cage yet. When the time comes, I'm going to have IND do it.

The car was plenty fast with the blower on stock internals.

        Theres always someone faster.
On the E9X, I'm going to be that someone.

I like your point here I think your car will be a beast no matter what.

You have to crawl before you walk, that YSI will be a beast either way.
