• DCT Build Part VIII - Putting it back together

As of right now, the transmission is completed and the cooling system is in the process of being completed. Where we left off was the car being taken to SSP for the build of the cooling system. To make this all make sense we will not skip ahead, instead showing you each step. Here SSP is getting ready to put it together with the new clutch discs. They laid out all the parts and used 3d scanning equipment to record them to aid in the production of the parts. Everything was laid out to make sure the parts were clean and accounted for. Additionally, they were working on prototype viton seals for the transmission. The next update will have details on the cooling system.

Yes they are proud I don't see anybody else my age doing what I'm doing and certainly not in this market where I'm at.

If you're sorry about going OT then don't go OT simple as that. And I'm not putting everyone down I'm putting people down who put me down, like yourself.
Yup, I am an old man of 47 who is self made, has a beautiful wife, in good health, and enjoys getting up to see what the new day will bring. You are a 29 year old kid who is wet behind the ears and has an ego bigger than his daddy's house. What do you think you have that could ever make me feel threatened.

You better allocate some of that vast fortune of allowance money you have saved as the latest rumour has you are being investigated for copyright infringement on this site. Click here to enlarge

Talking about money, I think how rich someone is depends solely on how much they are able to give back.

That being said, last weekend I rode in the MS150, which is a bike ride from Houston, Texas to Austin, TX (approximately 150 miles) that benefits research into a cure for multiple sclerosis.

Let's see how rich you guys are by seeing how much you can donate to a good cause!

I find it odd you have a particular obsession with me. You're a 47 year old following me around my self made forum. What do you think that could ever mean?

Copyright infringement? Oh yay, another rumor. I wonder what "copyright" I violated when I write all my content myself. News to me but whatever pull out whatever rumor you want Click here to enlarge

I believe in putting my money where my mouth is. You will see in the regional threads for the chicago wannagofast event that I will put breakfast on for participants at my trailer. The fee is a donation to red cross.

Well, one person made a donation for $250, which is much appreciated. About 80% goes towards helping people with MS.

        Thank you!

I agree and would love nothing more than to do so. But since I'm me and this build is what it is many people would prefer to be negative rather than positive about resolving all issues.

I simply want my car working and for SSP to be exposed and pay for the damage they have done. When you guys find out what I just learned you will laugh. Or cry.

Your really building this up, hope it's legit.... Vargas stg3's in a dct 335 would be lethal!

Joe - For me nothing would be better other than to speak about cars on the forum but...when you come out putting other peoples ride down or saying how much money you have, how many properties you have, people like me speak up.

You have an education...great for you but so do a lot of other people here (my phd is in quantitative finance). You have a couple bucks saved up but so do a lot of people here (and some of them have more money than you).

The difference between you and I is I don't put people down whereas you have. A good example is telling everyone how the house you live in (not own) is superior then anything any of us have. Rather than say sorry that perhaps what you said came out the wrong way, you qualify it saying you were only speaking to those that put you down but lets be honest, that was not in your original post. In either situation I probably win.

Sometimes one has to be humble...they don't teach you that in school which is why you are wet behind the ears. I am somewhat confident your father does not run around telling how much money he has. Ignorance is bliss and when you have been around the block you will understand.

I'm sorry where were you to point fingers when people were putting my ride or build down? A bit hypocritical don't you think? Especially considering my response was due to said persons insults. You sure know how to point a finger in one direction.

And? I do find it odd how much bitter anger I generate because I happen to be 29. I'm also building my own thing here without any help from anyone last I checked. Just my own two hands.

I disagree Earl. If your rep history was made public I think many here would see how you try to influence discussion and who/why you try to put down just in a slightly different manner than outright stating it. And you have put me down several times so I'm sorry this doesn't make much sense to me.

Once again, I wasn't putting people down as a whole I was putting down those who were putting me down. My shots were in response to theirs. I don't go in your thread or Jim's threads calling tuners or cars trash. Never have as a matter of fact I am quite supportive and positive donating a significant portion of my time to positively covering the cars yet I do not get the same respect.

This is a build thread, not an open ended discussion about my life which for some reason tends to polarize many people. I also am not one to shy away from saying what I think and if that is me not being humble well then that is just not me.

My father is 74 years old and money isn't his focus any longer. He's been through far more in life than you, or I, or really anyone here. To him, you're wet behind the ears and have hardly been around the block. It's a matter of perspective somewhat isn't it?

If you don't mind me asking, what career or business was your father in during his lifetime? He obviously did very well for himself and his family, and I remember he survived the Nazi camps as well. Not trying to pry and I respect the fact that you may want to answer this on a public forum.

        Peace.

Not Nazi camps (that was my moms side) but Stalin's camps. It's fine, I did a whole research paper on the topic that was popular reading in the history department.
