    • DCT Build Part VIII - Putting it back together

As of right now, the transmission is completed and the cooling system is in the process of being completed. Where we left off was the car being taken to SSP for the build of the cooling system. To make this all make sense we will not skip ahead, instead showing you each step. Here SSP is getting ready to put it together with the new clutch discs. They laid out all the parts and used 3d scanning equipment to record them to aid in the production of the parts. Everything was laid out to make sure the parts were clean and accounted for. Additionally, they were working on prototype viton seals for the transmission. The next update will have details on the cooling system.

For this to be fixed and up and running... are you looking at weeks? Months?

I'd bet it's frustrating - hopefully some updates soon.
I'm not frustrated it's coming along. When it's done, it's done.

Nobody else is even addressing this piece of the puzzle. The fabricator is producing the new pieces they may already be in.

I haven't read the whole thread, but I know your car was under the knife for quite awhile, but perfection takes time. Not trying to take shots at you, but do you have an ETA on your build? Either way, can't wait to see the results.

        Probably a month.

I'm just going to start saying when it's done.

I'm patient and know it is in their best interest to complete the car. It will be done relatively soon. It isn't a big deal and then it will be time to go hunting.

The time is going to fly by especially with all the things I have planned to do over the summer.

        "two weeks"

        -Contractor in the "Money Pit".

Honestly, the involved shops are beginning to embarrass themselves IMHO.

Hoping things go smoothly for you though.

If you can name 1 BMW shop that has done this faster I'm all ears.

Well we both know that is a loaded question. : )

I don't think this is the timeline you discussed with them originally is it? If so, then ignore my last comment.

Honestly, all I want to see is your car back on the road and you enjoying it. Not trying to create drama. Hate drama. Like checking fools that create it. Don't want to be that dude. ; )

There really wasn't a timeline as different companies were involved. Did it go longer than estimate for the trans? Yes.

A good time waster would be to go in this thread and compile all the quotes from people asking when the car will be done into one post.

        NOT IT.

Sticky, mind pointing me to a post where you have addressed programming the tcu for the ssp clutch pack. Think I've missed it. I'm a dct fan, so I'm curious how its been resolved.
