    • DCT Build Part VIII - Putting it back together

As of right now, the transmission is completed and the cooling system is in the process of being completed. Where we left off was the car being taken to SSP for the build of the cooling system. To make this all make sense we will not skip ahead, instead showing you each step. Here SSP is getting ready to put it together with the new clutch discs. They laid out all the parts and used 3d scanning equipment to record them to aid in the production of the parts. Everything was laid out to make sure the parts were clean and accounted for. Additionally, they were working on prototype viton seals for the transmission. The next update will have details on the cooling system.

No need to bump, SSP is here and I expect them to post with the rest of the details ASAP.

I have machined 2 different pans so far, I don’t like either one of them. Our third go at it will look awesome. We are incorporating the M3 logo into the pan. The cooler is mounted and all of the lines are run. I am just waiting on one machined bracket and then I will send over some pictures. I don’t want to send you pictures of something prototyped. The BMW crowd needs professional looking parts.

Great news! I am not surprised most non-modding guys do not understand the complexity and the time required for custom builds. That is why I only mod my "week-end" cars.

        Man, did you say it.

I can't believe some people don't understand that what is being done is something nobody has done. And people question the length of time it takes to do it properly with no blueprints to follow and everything being custom? Glad someone doing a project of their own gets it though.

This is just my toy so to speak so the time aspect doesn't matter to me, getting it done right does. It's a project car for BimmerBoost and no other BMW site has anything like it.

I agree with you sticky. Not many people understand teh ammount of work it takes to complete something for the first time. Also, something so custom and out of this world.

So, did you decide on the ysi?

Is that how you sold the idea to your parents?

Yes, I make sure to ask them before I do anything with any of my possessions.

Just because that is how you have to go about modding your car doesn't mean the rest of us do. Call up SSP and ask who pays and who they deal with. You can do the same with all the other vendors. I understand kids living with their parents like yourself have trouble understanding how people at my age have more money than you do but maybe if you spent less time worrying about my money you might get some of your own? That way you could stop trying to look rich by talking about your daddies cars Frank?

Not that it would matter with your license being suspended for a year, so typing is probably safer/easier for you anyway than figuring out how to do what I do.

Of course not, and I like it makes people jealous and angry who can't do it thsemselves.

Main thing is this is a fun project for BimmerBoost which is my hobby and cost and time is irrelevant. It is something for car enthusiasts to appreciate, not kids who can't drive or mod their own car.

Nobody needs your bitter hate in this thread. Go mod your car when you get your license back and let us know how that goes, okie dokie? I'm sure you will be doing bigger and better things with your awesome 335. Maybe your dad will get a sweet ride you can talk about as well.

Thread can now get back on topic, thanks.

Like I said, I can't comment on what is being done yet. It will be different from what has been done up to this point.

My question was off topic and directed towards THATDONFC regarding xbox, and his lack of left4dead2.

Well I will say this, you are keeping things interesting and holding the suspense. Looks like were just gonna have to wait for the big news. I know you and Gintani won't disappoint. You're car is still being done by Gintani, right?
