    • E92 335i with Nizpro upgraded automatic trans hits 1.5X 60 foots in the 1/4 mile

Well, it seems the Nizpro upgrade is real although this is still early. There is a competitive offering based in the US and Nizpro of course is in Australia. They took their E92 335i with factory N54 turbos to the strip and ran an impressive 11.2 @ 120 in the 1/4 mile.

That elapsed time for the trap speed speed is very good. This is indicated by the 1.57 60 foot:

Make no mistake about it there is room to improve but their transmission is holding together thus far. It would instill confidence to see higher torque launches. At this point, who cares about stock turbo N54 performance? The best test for the trans would be a high load launch with upgraded twins at the very least.

More runs and details will come with time as Nizpro ran this car without any corresponding transmission software upgrades. They are clearly doing shakedown runs before going further.

      So far, so good.

        That's awesome!

However, the shifts seem sluggish, worse than stock nearly. That's a lot of slip! Does this concern anyone else?

When it said "Nizpro Development ZF 6-Speed Transmission" I assumed this meant that they also did their custom tuning on it. Maybe that's not the case?

Nice video although not sure it's a record. I ran this in 2012 stock turbo with a JB4 before inlets and back end flash maps were invented... Click here to enlarge

I'm not 100% up to speed with bmw records but I thought this would be close to it.

I thought someone ran... 11.1 or 11.0x on stock turbos? Really ridiculously close to 10's ?

I'm most impressed with that 1.57 60'. The upgrades to the AT are performing well for stock power levels. Hopefully it performs as well with 600+rw.

Pretty sure those guys are Hotrod and Lostmarine. Plus they did this years ago.

        Not bad for 305kw.
        Sluggish ?
The shifts are supposed to be .4 seconds quicker over the 1/4mile

        11.2 is right up there.

11.013 is the quickest posted for stock turbo 335i that i see in the link.
Looks like Hotrod had a nitrous shot for 11.11, as did a few other guys at around those times.

Hard to tell without seeing the gauge, but yes, it is very concerning IMO.

Classic modern BMW turbo scene.... Everyone is too concerned with their e-peen ET/trap record and ignoring the benefit of the 60' for the big picture.

This thing hooks up well....is thAt a full slick? Any boost limit by gear enabled?

i just trapped 120 last week with a best of 12.2. Is this car shifting a redline ? Leaving in 1st? Stock shafts?....so many questions lol

Launching with stock turbo's proves nothing IMO. Tons of people have their stock transmissions hold up fine at these ET's but some (like me) have ran into slipping issues past 500WTQ at the wheels. Either way, he needs to do a LOT more pulls AND upgrade his twins so hes running 600+ at the wheels. That will be the ultimate test IMO cracking mid 10's on this transmission over and over again. Only then will i believe that their is actually something out there for us AT guys!

I think they plan to. I asked them a bunch of questions such as these and am waiting for a response.
