      The Audi A7 is a very stylish 4 door coupe designed to take on the Mercedes CLS and BMW Gran Sport. There really is no need for an A7 wagon but Theophilus Chin decided to render one anyway to show us what it would look like. The A7 with its sloping rear already mimicks wagon proportions somewhat so it certainly looks natural this way. With A6 and A4 wagons, this model would be completely redundant.       The R8 will get a facelift later this year for the 2013 year model. The changes are small with the LED headlights getting a revision as well as the grille. The rear will be changed to mirror the R8 GT exhaust tips. The rear lights will also be getting a change. The cosmetic updates are fine but the main thing we want to see is for the car to get a dual clutch transmission finally and a horsepower bump on the V8 to match the new RS4 and RS5 with 450 horsepower.       Congratulations to Audi whose R8 LMS Ultra GT3 race cars finished the 2012 Nurburgring 24 Hour race in first and second place. This is Audi's first overall victory in the Nurburgring 24 Hour race. The pole setting BMW Z4 GT3 unfortunately had a driveshaft failure costing over 6 laps before it was fixed. The sister BMW Z4 GT3 car had gearbox issues which cost the car its lead. This left the door open for Audi who capitalized in a hard fought race. ...

      We will not be getting a B8 RS4 in the United States which has come to be the standard when releases an avant only model. They skipped us over on the B5 RS4 since that was a wagon and we are getting skipped over on the B8 RS4 since it also is a wagon. A shame the US market has not been able to warm to the idea as a 450 horsepower 4.2 liter V8 revving to 8250 with a dual clutch gearbox and quattro sure would be more fun than an SUV especially in winter climates.       The ECU's in the V10 R8's have made tuning the twin turbo setups difficult as it was not as simple as just bolting on what was already available for the Gallardo which shares the same motor. Development has progressed steadily and here we have a dyno video from Heffner at just 7 psi from the two Garrett GT35R turbos. The car puts down a respectably 730 wheel horsepower on stock internals up 272 wheel horsepower from the baseline of 458 to all four wheels with a Stasis exhaust.       It does not get any more dominating than this. Talk about showing the world you mean business, a 1-2-3-4 clean sweep for Audi at the 6 hour endurance race at Spa-Francorchamps. The E-tron hybrid R18's were dominating as well finishing in 2nd and 4th. This goes to show they are the real deal and hold up in an endurance race. A 6 hour race however is not quite the same as the 24 Hours of Le Mans but this does prove the E-tron cars are going to be ready to compete when the big show rolls around in June. ...

      Here is an awesome TT-RS build from AWE-Tuning. This build is displayed well with photos of all the parts involved as well as before and after dyno's. AWE Tuning chose GIAC software boosting the power from 323 at the wheels to 351. Keep in mind the baseline is with AWE Tuning cat delete pipes, exhaust, and their front mount intercooler (FMIC).       The Audi 5.2 liter V10 in the R8 is an amazing sounding motor. However, for street use, it needs to be muffled obviously. Race vehicles do not have the same restrictions and when uncorked the V10 simply sounds magical. Case and point, the APR Grand-AM V10 R8.       With Audi's acquisition of Ducati it was only a matter of time before we started seeing these comparisons. The TT-RS is a very quick little car with awesome traction afforded thank to its all wheels drive. Ducati makes some top of the line sport bikes that are incredibly rapid.       The current Audi R8 still looks very fresh and with updates coming such as a horsepower boost and a dual clutch gearbox (DSG) we expect it to stay in production for a few more years. That does not stop speculation about the next generation model which will no doubt come sometime after the Gallardo successor is launched.       Fabspeed has released their R8 V10 5.2 exhaust. For whatever reason, it is not up on their website making pricing and ordering it a bit of a pain. Also, they did not include any dyno graphs which is very much unlike Fabspeed. We expect the gains to be similar to the Gallardo LP-560 system with minimal power increases up top but the curve down low and through the mid range being fattened up considerably. This is a direct replacement for the OEM system and offers weight savings of 42 pounds. A video of the exhaust sound is below. ...

      The Audi R8 5.2 liter V10 is detuned from the factory compared to its Lamborghini Gallardo counterpart despite having an identical motor. This is to protect the Gallardo image but R8 V10 owners have nothing to sweat as this just means they have room to tune. The GIAC software will bump a 6 speed manual R8 up from a baseline of 474 to the wheels (with a GMG racing exhaust) on a Mustang dyno to 506. Gains of 32 horsepower at all four wheels on 91 octane, not too shabby. ...

      The facelifted pictures of the 2013 Audi Q5 were leaked a bit early. Nothing major here, minor changes to the styling including the front and rear lights. The front grille and bumpers are also slightly reworked. The big news is that the 3.0 TFSI supercharged V6 from the S4 goes under the hood although in detuned form with only 268 horsepower. We are guessing upgrades to bring that powerplant up to the S4's level are going to be popular. It also seems that a tuned version of this motor will find its way into an SQ5 model to come at a later date. ...
