    • 10.8 second full weight E90 N54 on 100% E85 with Super RB turbo upgrade

Yep, more and more N54's are joining the 10 second club. Toward the end of last year a few cars broke into the 10's but the E82 1-Series N54's led the charge. They were later joined by a full weight E90 powered RB car that went 10.94 @ 130.18.

That same E90 owner @newb335guy now shaved his time to 10.851 @ 130.38 with Super RB turbos. He is running 100% E85 now as well and previously it was an E60 blend. Here is the mod list:

      Super RB Turbos
      TFT Inlets
      JB4 G5/MHD
      Fuel-It stg 3 LPFP
      Cpe/BMS PI
      100% E85
      DSS Axles
      AR DPs
      CP-E FMIC
      Tial BOV
      Wheels Apex Arc 8s
      245 40 17 front 275 40 17 rear NT05r drag radials

It is more consistent with two 10.8 passes as you can see. The better 60 foot produced the better trap speed. Let that be a lesson to some of you. A better 60 foot usually produces a better trap unless the trap is inflated by spinning as indicated by a poor 60 foot.

Regardless, it is great to see @newb335guy improve his times and go further into the 10's. Now who else is going to join him with a full weight E92 or E90?

Thanks Sticky! I am digging the write up. I am sure it will be asked. I am am an automatic with the Alpina flash.
2007 E90 128k on the odometer I daily the car. I literally got off work and drove to the the track this evening. The flash is Terrys JB4 Hbrid flash with updated spooling. The car weighs roughly 3750 depending on how much gas I have in it. The last time I weighed her at the track the weight was 3730 lbs and i had maybe 2 gallons of gas left in her. last night she had a half tank so a little heavier.

Not bad, D. I find your 60 foot times impressive for a 6at car! Hopefully more trips to the track will result in better times without the issues on cyl 4!

Wow, well done! Especially for being full weight, that car is not light! They say 1/10th for every 100lbs Click here to enlarge

        Amazing results Delta!

The first two passes on the combination in for rock solid 10.80s! I think we can conclude this is no longer a fluke pass, since it was backed up. All in a full weight E90 of all things. This is literally unheard of in this entire platform, but it couldn't have been done without your driving man seriously great work!

Few things I find remarkable about your results:
        1) Full weight E90 even with half a tank of gas!
        2) Less than 10 modifications (including the wheels)!
        3) 128,000 miles on the engine!

You have one of the most basic setups out there yet have the quickest full weight N54 in the world. Even matched up to those with 300+lb weight advantages you'd be neck and neck!

I do agree that this car was hauling through the 1/8th, but seems to really have laid down on the top end. On your classic RB's you were picking up about 28-29mph on the backend, but now you are only picking up 25-26mph. Considering you have now picked up ~2mph in the 1/8th is a good sign that there is additional power, but the car certainly seems to be laying down on the backside. Hopefully we can find a good reason why you are not seeing 31-32mph on the backend as you should be, which would put you around 134-135mph and ~10.6-10.70 ET.

All in all fantastic work and quite possibly the most impressive N54 that I have ever seen.

First off I am an Automatic. I launch mostly by feel. I first gear launch, my car likes that the best and so does the transmission. I have launched many times in 2nd my car bogs badly and just does not like it.

My launch is easy get lined up stand on brake and I mean stand on the brake, give gas til she feels like she can't hold in place anymore and release brake when green then stand on gas.

Mash gas hang on she shifts on her own at redline.

DSS axles or some form of upgraded axles will be a must or you are going to break them. You will also need a good drag radial or slicks NT05R's are a great cheap track even daily tire, just you have to be very careful if you daily them and you get caught in the rain.

Have you had an opportunity to try M/T Street ET (any variation) compared to the NT05r's? Also, your diff is stock?

So the real question is did Terrys tweaked backend maps result in the better ET or the SUPER Rb's? Click here to enlarge

That is really nice. It's funny how not that long ago 10 sec cars were few and far between.
