    • More and more N54's in the 10's - Full weight E90 335i with RB turbos 10.94@130 in the 1/4 mile

Get used to seeing 10 second N54's. Frankly, it's about time. Recently two 135i's broke into the 10's each with upgraded stock frame turbos. Why this run is significant is that it is a 10 second upgraded stock frame run in a BMW E90 335i. The E90 3-Series is heavier than the E82 1-Series.

How much heavier? Roughly 300 pounds with the driver. A significant amount yet the car still cracked the 10 second barrier. Here is the mod list:

      RB Turbos
      TFT Inlets
      JB4 G5/MHD
      FuelIt stg 2 LPFP
      HFS-4 meth kit
      E60 E85
      DSS Axles
      AR DPs
      Cpe FMIC
      Tial BOV
      NT05R's

The picture you see in the beginning of this post if of the stealth RB and RB inlets and not the setup on the car that broke into the 10's which is the 'classic' RB stock frame turbo upgrade. Expect even more out of the car when the new turbos go on.

Also, expect more 10 second N54's which should now be common. We also have a bit of a back and forth vendor war going in the stock frame N54 turbo upgrade game which is good for all of us. It should push the limits of what they can achieve. A good old fashioned shootout is getting the platform quicker and faster times on the strip.

Congratulation to @newb335guy and more details in his words below:

Let me start with some notes about my setup. Very easy setup that most end users are easily capable of duplicating, first off regular RB's (old school ones) and Trueform Technology Inlets. Like most I am a FBO (mods are in sig). I run an E60 E85 blend. JB4 G5 with the Hybird turbo tune via MHD.

Like most I really do not prep my car, I go to the track just like I daily it with full seat and interior mats and small little things left laying in my car. I literally drive to the track and start running. I do have NT05r drag radials which I also daily.. If you have this type of setup you want traction on any road or else 2nd 3rd are useless at wot and 4th is a 50/50 and 5th at times is can be sketchy.

Things I do not have that most others do not have also. I do not have Port injection, I do not have LSD. I am just an older model RWD 10/06 build 2007 E90 125k miles on the car modded for a good 80K or so miles. The RB's that I have in the car have probably 25k of use on them now and they flat out perform.

The regular RBs can produce very very well 128-130 traps are moving. Terry's latest firmware and Hybird tune has made a tremendous difference too.

Very impressive Dorsey. Nearly 300lbs heaver than the 1 series counterpart (with less mods) and doing it about the same! On old skool RB's and a 125k mile N54 nonetheless!! Well dialed in but without upping the launch game (easier said than done keeping your car as is) this is about the best one can expect without more power.

So let's hope the Super RB Stealths arriving today put you into the "My AT needs new gears club"Click here to enlarge

Damn man, awesome results! Any idea what your numbers to the ground are? Wish there was ethanol around here so I could go your type of setup!

This is from dragtimes tools it does not have temp, elevation, and DA considered so its just a general idea.
        1/4 mile time:
        Trap Speed:
        Weight of vehicle
        with driver (pounds):

        Horsepower @ flywheel = 602.65 HP

Thank's Rob turbos and setup have been great. And super excited for the new Stealth turbos to arrive.

Had a lot of people coming out of the woodwork wondering what in the hell was that little BMW doing and how.,

When you say that you just trapped 130 they nearly fall over.. Got a couple more offers from people wanting to buy my little sleeper too.

Congrats, full weight! Were you running meth during these runs? What mix?

Yes I do run meth. I have an HFS4 kit which is a great setup so I predominantly run 100% meth for cooling IAT purposes.

Another solid night for Dorsey's car. Quickest E90 335i sedan dragtimes and only one 335i quicker overall. This is a TRUE full weight car. It weighed 3730 at the track with driver and 1/4 tank of fuel. It is nearly 300 lbs heavier than some of the recent 10 second 135i's! Only light weight mod is 17" Apex Arc-8s which drop about 30-35 lbs over factory wheels. No fancy billet wheel turbos here either. Just basic cast wheel RBs. All this with a DA in the 1400s. We didn't aggressively cool down the car either. Didn't even pop the hood. No ice down, etc. We tried to give it about 30-40 minutes in between passes.

I have no doubt we could have pulled out front passenger and rear seats and set the all time record. Unfortunately as the night went on the times slipped back into the 11.0x range. It was near 100% humidity and there was moisture down the track making traction difficult further down the track. He even hotlapped a pass back to back and it still ran an 11.0x. Couldn't be happier for my buddy!

Sigh more turbo wars? For 3700# this is pretty impressive. He's been running close to 130mph for awhile now just finally got a good enough launch for that 10.9 ET!

Given our MOTIV 135i has maybe 100whp more and 600# less weight I'm starting to feel pretty guilty for not bolting on the slicks and giving it a hard launch last time I had it out at Famoso. Click here to enlarge

If you want to make comparisons to another get ready for the facts, four 10 sec slips in the same day, not a glory run. Congratulations are in order, but don't get ahead of yourself.
Jesus dude do you ever stop?

Nearly 300lbs in itself is certainly good for .2+ sec… not forgetting the below:

        1) Worse DA
        2) 125k mile N54
        3) Old skool RB's
        4) No PI, no 100% Ethanol
        5) Worth repeating: +270lbs

Amen. And thanks for helping all these guys out Terry, there certainly has been a big common denominator in the rash of recent 10 slips tuning wise and it is appreciated.

LOL r u kidding? When turbocripple made his record breaking run- first few sentences tony took shots at trickcruiser/rob, comparing price of turbo setup, and weight of the car.

I didn't see rob all in that thread....in fact he was removed

RB had another 135 car run in the tens. perhaps he was comparing it to that car, which had the evos?

Congrats to the OP, solid times for the 335. Sorry your thread is going to go to $#@!. Pro-forum-tip, have RB create these threads so he can remove people, it keeps it a bit cleaner, works well for Tony and others.

I'm not going back to an old thread. Seemed like a cheap shot in this thread. Behavior of another previously doesn't justify your own behavior if it is wrong. Viscious circle of threads turning to crap

Is he comparing this to his more expensive kit? Doubtful but point taken. Redact what I said then.
