Everyone knows of the G-Class. Difficult not to when the vehicle seems to have been in production for what feels like eternity. It is likely that production of the G-Wagon will be ending in the very near future so Mercedes put up a small tribute video that goes over the history of the model from its origins to present day. The video is well worth watching for anyone curious about the G-Class origins as well as its evolution. Who knows, maybe Mercedes will continue to let it evolve. ...

The current W204 C-Class is winding down. Having started production in 2007 the time has simply come for the W204 to be replaced especially with the new F30 BMW 3-Series on the market. We expect the US offering for the next gen to have a turbocharged direct injection four cylinder in the C250 and the C300 and C350 to share direct injected naturally aspirated six cylinder motors. The next gen C63 AMG is the wildcard as if the model shares the other 63 AMG motors as before and receives the M157 twin turbo V8, game over. ...

We have seen a lot of rumors about the SLS Black Series but the details are slowly but surely starting to emergy. First and foremost, there has been debate on the motor. It seems the M159 will be retained but with more aggressive cams, a higher compression ratio, and revised intake manifold. Expect over 600 naturally aspirated horses. It should also be capable of over 200 miles per hour stock. Additionally, carbon ceramic brakes are likely to be standard. ...

Here is a comparison all German car enthusiasts should watch. Before AMG was ever a part of Mercedes, before M got diluted, before the era of heavy sedans with turbo V8's, AMG and M squared off where it mattered, on the race track. And they did so by producing street cars that very close to their racing counterparts simply so that they could meet homologation requirements for racing. These two models highlight the best of M and AMG in that very respect. Keep in mind, the AMG team fielded a 190E but was not responsible for building the car in the same manner M was. ...

This is no real surprise coming hot on the heels of the official reveal of the CLS Shooting Brake. The AMG version sports the familiar M157 twin turbo 5.5 liter powerplant putting out 525 horsepower and up to 557 with the optional performance package. Just like the standard CLS Shooting Brake / Wagon, this vehicle will not be coming to the United States. Unfortunate as this would be the king of performance wagons having great style matching excellent performance. For now, US fans have to admire from afar. ...

RedBull Racing's Mark Webber took the checker flag after an exciting weekend filled with rain that turned dry on race day. In front of 120,000 fans that braved the rain, Webber managed to take first spot from Ferrari's Alonso with four laps to go. Alonso managed to dominate the race, putting 12 sec between him and Webber at one point, but that lead disappeared with Alonso's fading tires. Webber's teammate Vettel managed to claim 3rd after jumping drivers through well placed pitstops. ...

Kind of an odd piece of news considering Mercedes recently took the new A45 AMG off the table for the United States. Instead of getting the high performance hot hatch we are were all craving Mercedes is going to give us a Tesla powered all electric B-Class. This will be a front wheel drive only car as well. For those wondering why the motor and batteries will be supplied by Tesla, Daimler owns a 4.7% stake in the company. On the bright side this will open the door for more cars coming to the United States from this A, B, and CLA platform which these models all share. ...

Well we are pretty disappointed with this piece of news. This model was shaping up to be a great entry level tuner platform in the Mecedes lineup. A 340+ horsepower all wheel drive hatchback with a dual clutch transmission that is also priced competitively. Mercedes simply said the following, "There are no plans to offer the A45 in the U.S." The Audi A3 will remain unchallenged by Mercedes or BMW in the United States for now. Bummer. ...

We thought the idea was a little odd but the final product does not look bad at all. Introducing the "Shooting Brake" CLS which we will refer to as a wagon because that is exactly what it is. This model will likely be popular in Europe which has a fascination with wagons similar to the United States fascination with SUV's. Those two different outlooks also likely means this car will not be coming to the United States. Expect an AMG version of this car to come as well making for one of the baddest all around wagons on the planet. ...

Mercedes continues to excel in the 2012 DTM season. They were already in first place in the manufacturer standings heading into today's race and with the victory plus finishing in 3 out of the top 5 spots they have extended their lead on Audi and Mercedes considerably. BMW had a fine showing taking two spots on the podium with 2nd and 3rd place finishes. BMW will now pass Audi who had a poor race with only one top 10 finish for second place in the manufacturer standings. ...

We have built a good amount of M156/M159 SLS engines and have had a few request for build photos. This same engine build is the foundation for a larger horsepower SLS package that we will be releasing soon. Also installed are one of the first few sets of M159 CNC ported heads we have released. We will be updating our website with details in the near future. ...

This is a rather unfortunate piece of news for enthusiasts who were anticipating the Mercedes competitor to the Porsche 911. This was going to be a rather exciting model from an enthusiast standpoint being far lighter and sportier than the SL yet cheaper than the SLS. The executives on Mercedes Board of Directors thought the car was too expensive as proposed. They have decided to put the model under observation which means it is not cancelled entirely but that the engineers have a chance to retool it and cut costs. Regardless, prospects on the SLC getting the green light are grim at this point. ...

We understand why EVO compared these two although the SLS really is in a much higher performance class. On paper it seems close as the Aston with its 6.0 liter V12 has 510 horsepower but it also weighs about 250 pounds more. The SLS used in this comparison has 563 horses plus a quicker shifting dual clutch transmission. We would put our money on the SLS AMG in any performance comparison against the DBS Volante any time. Even one done in the wet as this one was. ...

Michael Schumacher regained form and silenced critics by claiming a surprise third place podium ahead of the charging RBR of Mark Webber at the Valencia Grand Prix. This is his first podium since the Chinese Grand Prix in 2006. Schumacher started 12th on the grid and made the most of the different strategies, safety car and a collision to claim the spot. He now holds the record for the oldest podium finisher since Jack Brabham in 1970. Nico Rosberg finished 6th in between the Force India Mercedesí of Nico Hulkenburg and Paul Di Resta. But it was Ferrariís Fernando Alonso that claimed the win in his home country. Renaultís Kimi Raikkonen took second. This is a first for 3 former Ferrari Champions to be on podium. ...
