    • Yet another 500+ whp N55 this time a DCT - BMW E82 135i with a Pure Turbos Stage 2 turbo upgrade shows 520 wheel horsepower

500+ wheel horsepower N55's are almost becoming routine. Recently we saw a Pure Turbo Stage 2 upgraded F30 335i cross the 500+ wheel horsepower mark. Well, here is yet another 500+ wheel horsepower N55 although what makes this one different is that it is a DCT car.

Why does this matter? Well, because the DCT offers very quick shifts (which we saw pay dividends in a real world race) and because the stock transmission is holding this level of power and torque.

How much power and torque? 520 horsepower and 517 lb-ft of torque at the wheels. This is achieved with full bolt ons in addition to the Pure Turbos upgrade, meth injection, and a Cobb/JB4 stack for tuning.

The race to 600+ whp is on in the N55 scene.

These N55s are getting more impressive by the day. Especially the fact that they hold power to redline so well compared to N54s which die off on the top end on almost all stock frame turbo options..

How difficult is the S2 turbo installation from a parts perspective? A DP is nbd for me and I can do the LPFP etc myself. Just wondering if I will need to budget ABR install time, or if I can get it done wrenching in my garage. Maybe a better question is, should I pay the $$ and same myself a headache?

        Hi Kyle,

The install is not too difficult. Taking your time, it should take a decent technician 6 to 8 hours.

        Thanks.

Yes sir we do. First N55 to break 550. Won't be the record for long though. PURE has yet to dyno their E90 with PI. I'm thinking 600+

Wait, so whose car is this and what are the specs? This was the highest pull?

Mine lol and no, not the highest pull, but one of the few dynos that I didn't lose traction on. There's about 600 lbs of extra weight in the rear on this dyno. Most they got was 560/541 and they're not stopping there. The car is FBO, Pure Stage 2, ATM FMIC, ER inlet and outlet charge pipes, CAI, CG Precision catless down pipe and cat back, jb4, BMS Meth injection 100% no mix, on pump 93 with FF harness.

Well if I'm going to write an article on this new record I need to see the record pull.

How much more room is there in this?

Why the JB4? I thought you said Eurocharged tuning @Obriennathaniel

Congrats, that should pull the skin off a rice pudding.
        What transmission do you have?
You should start a new thread with all the details.

He'd need the JB4 so they can add the N20 3.5bar TMAP and control boost above ~21psi.
