Here it is, the new 6 series cab which will officially go on sale in Spring of 2011 in the USA as a 2012 model. You may notice, the car features a soft top and not a retractable hard top. We are not yet sure how this impacts the overall curb weight as this figure has not been released. We are hoping it is much lighter than the previous model but with the F13 being longer and wider, that may be a long shot. Pictured here is the 650i using the familiar N63 twin turbo V8 putting out 400 hp which is routed through an 8 speed gearbox. More details to come shortly.

Going to go ahead and say it, BORING.

Plus that front end is horrible.

But the wheels are very nice.

i honestly think it is gorgeous. It really is the best looking BMW today (except for the fangs on convertible cover on the back)

Probably. However, I dont think they should offer the M package you refer to, if that platform has a M derived car (M3, M5, M6). All the upcoming ones, will be F/I, so whats the point of buying a real M car...
At least before, all M cars were 100+ HP per liter N/A engine cars; now, they will all be F/I...

seriously Bmw should concentrate on details ,with a few changes in front headlight both graphic and shape(like the concept),bumpers and exhaust pipes it will be a handsome car but as usual they just didn't!

I Agree,The new generation M6 was initiated after Dr.Segler took over the reigns and it's said he likes sharp looking cars

here is 640i spec i found at BmwBlog,mpg is impressing

The first two models of the new BMW 6 Series Convertible family to come to the market are the 640i and 650i. Based on the successful sales of the 630d, BMW will most likely launch a similar powered model in Europe sometimes in 2011.
Both the 640i and 650i will join the US line-up. The entry-level 6er Convertible is powered by the N55 TwinScroll turbocharged engine. The engine produces 320 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and 450Nm of torque between 1,300 and 4,500 rpm. The 640i Convertible weighs 1,840 kilograms, but still manages to run from 0 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds.
Fuel consumption is impressive for a car of this size, 7.9 liter per 100km, approximately 29.7 US MPG. Compared to the 650i model, the 640i sports a pair of round tailpipes instead of the oval ones.
