    • ESS VT2-575 Supercharged E92 M3 w/ 100 Shot of Nitrous - New 60-130 stock internal record, 6.53 seconds

Congratulations to BB user MikeWads for raising the bar:

Went out this morning and made a 60-130mph run (Full weight/93 octane). I recently got the ESS DCT software installed and lowered the boost some (for the time being I'm running the 98mm pulley which is around 6psi). I run Borla's full race setup which is catless. My Flip video camera is strapped to the front of the car to give you guys a unique perspective. Enjoy!

So a freak occurrence really? Seems as of late we have seen injectors that have failed claiming motors, Discovery Automotive builds for instance. Those were just boost...

Now this is a whole argument in itself, because now it depends on how much boost or nitrous were comparing... But my general opinion is that if i had to choose between fuel (methanol injection) cutting on 18 psi on my N54 vs fuel (meth) cutting on the motor at 16 psi with a 30 shot, I would prefer boost with fuel cut only because Ive seen the motor pull timing in a situation like this. Dont know if it would do it fast enough with nitrous.
Seems we are dealing with several variables and hypotheticals but you are saying fuel cutting with nitrous is worse than just with boost. It does depend on the boost and the motor setup and when and under what load but I think we can agree fuel cutting period is something one does not want. Establishing degrees of danger for what is an undesirable situation in either case is kind of grasping at straws.

Plus, what if the setup we are talking about is a direct port setup? You are injecting the fuel directly to support your nitrous shot, seems that would offer insulation as well in this application?

Too many hypothetical situations and variables to make a direct comparison as to which is more dangerous. I would lean towards nitrous, but I have no data to say so.

Well what the hell, we can at least agree on fuel cutting being a bad thing.

That would be a bad thing..

Now if your fuel was chuck norris' tears and your fuel cut, chuck would immediately find you and rip your brain out through your anus because you wasted a drop of his precious tear...

Mike did you use the same tires you used at the drag on the 60/130 runs?

No, used the RE-11s on the 60-130 runs.
