Not really sure if it is fair to call this a BMW, more like something resembling a BMW. This once was a E46 M3 but now it is a Mazda 4 rotor powered turbo drag car with tube chassis. The gold plating actually looks nice but you build something like this for kicking ass down the drag strip not to look pretty. The "previous" version of this car has run 7.2@196 supposedly. Still, we do not really see how you can call this a BMW. Still, the workmanship is incredible and to be respected. We look forward to seeing what it can do down the strip where it belongs, instead of touring car shows as it is currently scheduled to do.
no intercooler? interesting, it doesnt heatsoak waiting for the line up? that set-up is refered to as blow-through right? rotaries are cool like people have said, what kind of revs does this get up to?
Real f-cking gold? That sh-t will melt after running for 5 minutes. I don't believe it. Look at the downpipe, tell me that gold won't melt like cheese...
And the brakes? Gold... This looks like something the saudi's would do.

Hahaha, ya.

They are saying it is real gold. I don't know if it will melt, Gold is a good insulator right? It used on the McLaren F1 engine bay and that doesn't melt. However, on the turbo the temps will be much higher. I don't know, this leads me to believe this is just a show car that won't be seeing the strip... ever.

Gold is one of the most thermally conductive materials in the world. Basically it is a terrible insulator, but a good reflector and conductor of heat.
Using it in the engine bay is not what im talking about, but when its a gold plated downpipe that gets to 1300F; then I get worried. Same with the brakes.
I bet they can turn it on, drive it for 5 minutes and then have to turn it off lol... A nice car for sure, but some people are just getting bored these days. Running out of ideas!
HAI GAIZ LES DROP 4 ROTAR WANKAL INTO BMW LOOL GOLD PLATED TOO SURE WTF!!11
It woule be easier to attach the front end to a crane hoist. Lift the whole car up and dip it into a vat for gold plating, then pull it out gold Fondue. Woot!
