• DCT Build Part VII - Taking the BMW E92 M3 DCT to the next level, 800+ wheel horsepower clutch disc capacity

You have seen the DCT taken apart, what it looks like inside, worn clutch discs, and brand new higher capacity clutch discs made. The new discs handle 600+ and 700+ whp respectively. With my power goals, SSP has decided to build a clutch pack that is beyond anything developed at this time for the DCT. What is the power goal? Well, it is beyond what is currently available and SSP is currently developing a clutch disc pack capable of over 800 wheel horsepower.

      How is this being done?

The current clutch discs are of a thicker material than the stock discs. However, the stock clutch pack has 9 discs in it. By increasing the number of clutch discs they are going to increase the maximum torque capacity. By going to a thicker material and increasing the total number of discs to 11, the DCT in the BMW M3 will be taken to a level no one previously thought was possible. This is going to be similar to the GTR 1000 hp clutch setup by SSP (pictured) but the GTR uses more clutch discs albeit smaller, thinner discs.

What else is being done and how much time will it take?

The DCT is going to receive a cooling system based on what SSP has done with the GTR's. This will be a DCT specific application and will be great for the guys who track. No more overheats, no more staying away from the track on hot days. Look for a separate build thread specifically for the cooling system in the next few weeks. Regarding the time period, expect completion next month with the car returning fully assembled and capable of handling the increased power.

But I bet your going to tell me the answer for 2 pages or so......
I think the audience believes you are attempting to shift focus to an engine build rather than your transmission work which happens to be the subject of the thread isn't it? Smooth, really smooth. That's going over well.

You think it takes 3-4 months to build an S65 V8 with a supercharger like a YSI for big boost? Oh, please do it. You obviously know this platform oh so well.

Once again, what does any of the motor work have anything to do with the trans work? The motor is perfect, the fuel system is perfect, the meth injection is perfect, the exhaust is perfect, the custom headers are perfect, everything except what you touched is perfect.

I bet you're going to avoid the topic yet again and keep dancing around the issue right?

Then give it back to me because yours doesn't fit. How you messed even this up I have no clue.

If I woud have had 3+ years to develop a trans, I supposed it would be perect as well.

Yes, everything is perfect except what you touched unfortunately. I would hope you would have some honor and integrity but hey, can't expect you to be perfect right?

Oh so even more time was necessary?

Why don't you fill us in on what more time would have done for you.

Is it so hard for you to carry on a normal conversation with someone, and not make a smart ass comment about everything?

Not at all unfortunately I'm just not having a discussion with someone worthy of any respect.

I'm not interested in sitting here and typing all day about this. My issue will be resolved one way or another. The question becomes what you decide to do from this point forward. Precarious position Kirs, the tone change now pages later after people saw your true colors isn't going to save you it's going to need to be actions. So, I STRONGLY suggest you get to work on fixing this.

"Your not interested in typing all day".. well that is strange. If you go back and look at some of your previous posts, it looks like you have been typing away until around 430 am....

Most people are well in bed by that time....

Joseph, I am more than glad to carry on this conversation for tomorrow evening. Good night.

Most people don't own forums now do they? I'm not interested in typing all day about this when it's clear what needs to happen here.

You keep responding and dancing around the issue. I expect my transmission issues to be resolved. You act oblivious like you were not informed. An e-mail was sent informing you that you responded to but pretend you don't know what is going on. Everything is documented.

Nobody cares about where you want to shift blame to or what miscellaneous topic you want to bring up (me not coming down to see you? LOL really?) all that matters is for the transmission to work. That's it.

So kindly focus on that. Which once again is the topic of the thread. I'm not sure how many times this needs to be typed for it to sink in.

You going to try to stretch this into a 2 year convo so the legal statute of limitations no longer applies?

Kinda funny how two of the most prominent E92 M3 builds tried SSP clutch upgrade.

And neither could get it to work. Hmmm...something tells me the product is worthless.

Must be me and my "lies" I guess. Can't be the product eh or company eh?

And didn't that other M3 have to go get a whole new transmission?

Has the transmission been disassembled yet to look at the clutch packs and baskets?

        I'm interested in what failed.

one way or the other, you $#@!ed up, and just admitted it. your portion was transmission, and took a year longer..with no finished product still.

No, hasn't been touched. If it was Kris would likely say it was our fault.
