• This is a 4.4 liter Alpha 12 Nissan GTR embarrassing a 1200 horsepower Protomotive 996 Turbo and another 996 Turbo

This is a beatdown. Protomotive builds some spectacularly fast 996 Turbos but there are also some spectacularly fast Nissan GTR's out there. This Topspeed built 4.4 liter Alpha 12 certainly qualifies. Just to give you a sensation of how bit the difference between the cars is the GTR gives the two 996 Turbos (the yellow one is the claimed 1200+ horsepower Protomotive car) a head start and the hit yet runs them down and passes them with ease.

The sensation of speed conveyed by the video is astonishing. The GTR makes the two 996 Turbos looks like they are moving in slow motion. Is the Protomotive car really putting out 1200+? Or is the GTR just that much damn faster?

Well I would rather have the GTR than a 996 Turbo...

Very bad ass gtr, he posted this vid on a couple other forums and said the proto 996 was only at 1.6 bar pump gas + meth with a slipping clutch. It has a race gas/high boost 2.1bar file but needs a triple disc first.

I doubt there is anything that 996TT can do to win. That GTR is insane.

        Twin 35R's do that? Interesting.

Looks like the GTR is a sub 4s 60 to 130 mph. haven't seen an acceleration like that from a street car ever

If this is the 4.4 litre build isn't that like a 1500+ awhp car ?

I don't think even Tim's 996 TT could get close to this, especially given the GTR auto tranny shift times

Dual clutch tranny shift times and yes looks like 1500+ with the way it annihilates these cars.

Like MBA said, it was already confirmed the "1200 HP Porsche" wasn't running at 100%, so why bother with the repost? The SpoolBus has done 4.69 60-130 on its new Undercover/ProEFI setup, Tim's last posted setup with the RedDragon was 4.33, so I think that's probably MUCH closer to a flat-4 if he ran it with the retuned Motec setup he's got, and Eddie Bello's done 3.68 in his 964. All of those Porsche's have 3 pedals.

Side note, the ETS 4.1L GTR still has the fastest GTR 60-130 at 2.59

Low 3's is insane...... so it goes 60-130 in time I go 60-100 and I thought that was quick

just insane how fast these gtr's are, and to think how bad ugr smacks them around! An alpha 20, or ets build will trap around 180-185, ugr doesn't drag race but they did trap 182 3 years ago with about 500whp less than they make now, I think these cars can probably trap 191-195 if they actually tried, they have now gone 233 in the 1/2 mile. I think the gtr record is 219

I was looking at the AMS packages and the base one is $52k or something, which means the Alpha 16 package must be nigh on $200k... I think one can get a UGR-LP570 package for 1500 whp for $110k on top of the Lambo price

Still this GTR is scintillating... wonder what 200-300 kmh (124-186 mph) times they do ?

Even when you spend this kind of money the DCT's in the GTR and Lambo TT are the weakest links at 1,500 HP

Both these guys had trouble figuring out who was faster due to all the missed shifts.

A heavy duty dog gear clutch-less shift trans might be a better way

If that's Brians (Unabomber) then yep. He runs a stroked (4.2 or 4.4?) block with some SERIOUS heads and cooling. You keep the air flowing, and cool, you can pull some stupid power out of a duo of billet 62mm's.

Correction, Brian is on a Built 4.0 but still makes 1357hp and 1040tq and traps 164mph in the quarter, so this is not his car. But yes Sticky, a prepped A12 (which is a GT35R based turbo) is a monster lol

The guy who posted this at 6sp is getting flamed by the HP Porsche guys saying they would spank his car easily. I am not so sure many if any 996TT's would smoke this
