• The strongest automatic N54 BMW 335i stands at 711 wheel horsepower until proven otherwise

A bit of controversy ensued last month when the N54 motor hit a new peak horsepower record on the dyno. Why? Because different dyno machines in different areas will read differently. If one person uses say a Dynojet and another uses a Mustang trying to compare the two is somewhat like trying to hit a moving target. Well, we can alleviate some of the controversy now as this particular car went on a Dynojet and posted a new automatic transmission Dynojet record with a 711 wheel horsepower pull.

That is of course less than the 753 wheel horsepower that was hit on a Dynomite dyno and it should show very clearly that different dynamometers read differently. There is no established standard but BimmerBoost does prefer Dynojet numbers as it is the most popular dyno. There are enough of them out there in the world that anyone should be able to find a local machine to use and we are glad BimmerBoost member @Ak335i did so.

So, while this does not exceed the 725 peak wheel horsepower number Vargas Turbo Technologies achieved with their Stage 3 turbocharger kit we are now to the point of splitting hairs as whomever is willing to push their motor (and transmission) further will have the record. This being an automatic car means it is far more difficult to upgrade the transmission and get it to hold the power. In that context this is a major development for the automatic N54 crowd and hopefully they have a transmission solution soon.

Now the question is, who will be the first to push past the 7XX range and who will end up raising the bar that is now a bit stagnant in the 7XX range? All BimmerBoost can say is when it happens our readers and members will be the first as always to know (and the ones who are raising it anyway).

Thanks. Gives me the idea that a 3800 stall will work pretty good launching out of the hole on boost. How much does level10 charge for upgraded stall and valve body?

I'm not sure what their normal price list is. Best to contact them directly.

I haven't released any info yet or started a thread, but in due time will. Not sure exactly how it will all be handled, but one thing is for sure, it will be good, and I will be putting it through its paces as soon is it gets back. Which is why I want to get my car tuned in really well, and a TC built, I want to be ready to pop it right in when it arrives. Still not sure on time frame of arrival though.

They have their website up and running under their own name now again. I've called and they gave me same price as their website for a higher stall, whatever you want, plus they do a couple other things to it to make it stronger. ~$576. A bit on the high side for a TC rebuild IMO, but not too far off.

We never had a hint of wheelspin making more WHP and similar TQ and we always dyno'd on stock wheels and tires. Strange so you are getting so much. The numbers look good and will go up once you get the tranny fixed...Click here to enlarge

What size stall are you going with? I may have to wait out and see what you come up with transmission wise if you might have a solution in the works.

The most compelling facts are that this is a World Record Automatic Transmission at 711 Wheel Horsepower, Built by Proven Power, which is located in Tampa, Florida!!!!! FLORIDA BUILD BABY YESS, A SOUTH FLORIDA CAR..??..What?...Wait a moment!? That's where I live. @Ak335i You can probably get just about any where in South Florida in 15-20 minutes in that car, plenty of e-85 in Broward and Dade... Umm, I would like to see this prodigious vehicle!!! Oh and of course, lastly, N54!

Not sure yet, probably ~3600. My best guess on the transmission is probably about 2 months at best right now to get it done, installed, and start testing. Could be longer, but that's why I'm not being too vocal about it yet. I do know what all is going into it and it's going to be really special. I think some will be surprised over what it will hold and reliably.
