    • Single turbo BMW N54 335i vs a C5 Corvette Z06 with a cam and nitrous on the highway

Good runs here showing a single turbo N54 335i up against a C5 Z06 on the highway. The 335i belongs to a BimmerBoost member and features a bottom mount Precision 6466 turbocharger with 25 psi on E85. Claimed power output in the video for the 335i is 680 wheel horsepower but it sure does not look like the car is running with that much power in this video. The Z06 features a bolt on, aftermarket cam, E85 ethanol, and enough giggle juice to make 555 wheel horsepower (if sandbagging is not at play).

The Z06 is obviously the lighter car. The difference is roughly 400 pounds depending on how the cars are optioned and the amount of fuel. The race is not close between the two with the Z06 taking it up top fairly easily. This 335i does have an automatic transmission and it looks like some additional tuning may be necessary to alleviate bogging after shifts.

Regardless, what happens in the video is what happens.

It is a similar video but looks like it's from the Z06 perspective this time around.

He'll chime in soon I'm sure there's more to this than the info given. It was a good race last time and he's only added boost so obviously something changed with the Corvette

        Lol

Yes. Same cars same road. Both making more power. That z06 is fast. I'm not upset about losing Click here to enlarge

So how accurate is his 555whp number?

He put down 554whp and I put down 597whp on a Mustang dyno at a shootout Sunday. I turned the boost up from 22 to 25 psi for the run. He said he was bringing all he had for the run.

Gotcha, still surprising it wasn't closer. I wonder if he upped his nitrous shot for that run. Cause you must have been ~630 whp at 25psi, no? (mustang dyno)

I think the numbers are pretty close. I expect that car (ZO6) to trap ~138 range with the said setup. Seems like OP is a good driver too.

But it says 680hp in the video! Click here to enlarge

Also interesting how he used your mustang numbers + added the dynojet % but he kept his the same. Thats how you make yourself look like a sandbagger

Than calling the forum dyno racers when he was just at a dyno shootout on sunday Click here to enlarge

chuckle, I don't remember my setup from last year, that was all R&D trying to figure what works.
I think i was on 93, 125 shot. I have no numbers from that. I fixed the clutch, lost some rotational weight there, bump the shot a lil. leaned her out and E85. it's a 140 shot.
For those who like numbers, it made 420 n/a. 555/602 over the weekend. trap 103 in the 1/8, 138 in the 1/4. she's a roll beast crackhead junkie.
here's the dyno sheet, enjoy. thanks Obama.

Really no surprise here in the race. I knew I was going to lose. It was for a fun R&D run.
Especially considering on the same dyno same day I made 597/578

@Sticky, typo on the article. It is a bottom mount, not a top mount.

So where did you get 680hp for the BMW?

I was on more boost the night of run.
680 is an accurate dyno jet number of where I likely was for the run

Ha, I knew it'd trap near there. @SoFlaZ06 nice setup. Have you run any FBO e85 gtr's from a roll...I think that would be a decent matchup.
