• First independently dyno'd N54 to crack 700 wheel horsepower - 6466 top mount hits 701 wheel horsepower

This is the third N54 to break the 700 wheel horsepower barrier. What sets this car apart is that it reached this milestone as an independent build and not a tuner project car. Last year in April Vargas Turbo Technology posted an impressive 725 wheel horsepower with their Stage III turbocharger upgrade. Vishnu Tuning also broke the 700 whp barrier but since that achievement Vishnu has basically disappeared from the N54 scene and has stopped doing anything of merit.

Well, the N54 community certainly has kept going and what you see here is an independent dyno result that is over the 700 whp barrier. The user asked to remain anonymous and his confidence will not be violated. If he chooses to chime in that is his business but here is the modification list:

      6466 Top mount turbo
      Upgraded Walbro 450 LPFP
      BMS Meth Kit
      Dual CM7 Meth nossels
      100% meth
      e30 mix
      25-26 PSI
10 deg's of timing up top
      high 11's afrs
Clutch Masters FX400 6 puc clutch

Some will point out this is on a Dynomite dyno and not a Dynojet and that is certainly correct, the two dynamometers read differently. What is important for people to take away from this though is that users are now in the 700 whp range and this horsepower range will now become more common in the N54 scene. It will not just be tuners pushing the limits as part of a forum dyno power war.

Great results however you slice it.

Who the hell is adam? JK that doesn't matter to me putting out the modification list is way more important to me. Great Job

Outstanding. Well written as well Stick.

We just need moar fuel and we can figure out when $#@! breaks on this motor. Can't wait!

Crazy that all this is doable on a stock engine. I was under the impression that the pistons were cast? Wonder how much farther hey can go.

Awesome. Not hard to figure out who this is, but kudos to the owner for posting *impressive* results and letting the numbers do the talking. I'm assuming this is still using BMS to control it?

Can't wait to see a car like this with more fueling - either PTF's PI or Vargas' new option. Should be epic!

        And agreed - well written.

They are indeed cast, only part of the rotating assembly that is.

You'll start to see them get smoked with boost creeping well past 20PSI on these singles. But for now most guys seem to be running them fairly rich + meth + modest advance, so that is likely prolonging things.

But overall...it's a stout ass motor.

I've seen many of the logs they look pretty now with the meth... had a feeling it was gonna break 700. Now just gotta address the MT shift bog! BB+JB4 ftw.

when you say shift bog, are you talking about after a NLS? I was testing a theory right before I got rid of my 335i, that while NLS meth was spraying through the shift and causing post shift timing drop outs for some reason. I had Terry create me a firmware that when gear=0 meth would stop and then restart once the shift was complete. Not sure that was the cause but the logs I did on that firmware did have improved post shift timing. If you're talking about after normal shifts, then I'm not sure.

With NLS, without NLS... 3 to 4 has it bad at high rpm. Shifting early avoids it usually but with the big turbo guys it seems to be more problematic since they run out the gears. I'm hoping some massaging of torque, timing and throttle tables might help, I'm not sure though to be honest. Hoping to dive into it this summer among other things like maybe some better open source flash tunes for the community. 2 more weeks...

ah I see. yeah the high RPM/high load issues are only now going to start presenting themselves as stock frame turbo guys all shift around 6200RPMs.

Cmonnnn 6MT guys complaining about post-shift timing? You know nothing John Snow….

Try a 3-4 shift on an IJE0S car. Now that is FTL.
