• Rob Beck Upgraded Turbo 335 vs. bolt on Lamborghini Gallardo

The 335 in this video belongs to BimmerBoost user LostMarine. The Gallardo belongs to BimmerBoost user Byzantine. The 335 has Rob Beck upgraded turbos (20 psi) and dynos around 480 whp. The 335 is running a JB3, helix FMIC, and 96 octane. The Gallardo has been lightened by about 200 pounds (it is a 2006 model) and has the LOC exhaust, EVOMS tune, and Fabspeed cat delete. We thank these two for making the trip to Bolivia to run the cars and show the result! Enjoy the video.

Who does the editing on these vids? What program is used? It is just extremely well done, I want the ability to make videos of similar quality and windows movie maker just won't cut it.

I'm glad you liked the BimmerBoost representation, LM thought it would be a good idea Click here to enlarge

I have a small film production business on the side. Most of the stuff on that particular YouTube channel is done by me (took so long because I had to pack for my trip). WMM is definitely not going to cut it for stuff like this. You'll need to step up to a non-linear editor (NLE) like Final Cut Pro or Sony Vegas Pro. I personally use Sony Vegas because I'm too lazy to switch to Mac.

Windows movie maker isn't powerful but it sure is easy. What is more intuitive to use? Final Cut Pro or Sony Vegas Pro?

That explains the quality of the vids. How long did this vid take you to edit?

A little under an hour. It depends, do you have a newer Mac? If so, FCP is the way to go. If not, Vegas is good. Once you get the hang of it, they both have similar learning curves.

I don't have a Mac so it looks like I'm going with Vegas, thanks!

        Anything you recommend for cameras?

If you don't want to get too technical, any HD camera/camcorder will really work. But if you are willing to deal with manual controls, our video team uses 3 Canon T2i (which are essentially DSLRs than can shoot HD video) rigs. The result is amazing quality. But for racing, GoPro HD for without a doubt ($250 for the camera, car mounts, battery, etc.)

Great video. Thanks to both for making the effort included dodging the weather conditions and crossing borders to make this the highlight of my weekend.

That Gallardo sounds awesome and that 335 impresses highly. I will be racing similar monsters with my RB 335 at 5500ft of altitude so the Naturally aspirated cars are going to cry.

Nice Editing work for sure. Any 1/4 numbers out of the gallardo? Trap speeds? I saw a 7.9 60-130 time via vbox, any traps via vbox?

I think even with better traction, he is still gonna pull hard like an SOB and ill play catch-up, and im gonna need to hold a bit more boost to redline to help reel him in a bit quicker as well (touched 20psi peak-18psi redline on those runs). I think we are pretty evenly matched though. I suppose then i could always do a bit of WR and drop some Lbs as well.. Either way, that car is pure sex, Dan is an outstanding enthusiast and a hell of a driver.

wow this thread blew up, pretty cool race. i like that it was very even. seems if they hit the gas at the same exact time the lambo will win, but if LM hits the gas a half second early (stupid DBW, not his fault) its a pretty good race. have you found more boost = more power LM? have you looked at your timing to see if there's room for improvement? sometimes just adding boost wont make your car run harder.
