This project was done by a user by the name of glenn-b from the UK. This is apparently his second swap. The car is also a beautiful Warsteiner racing M3 replica. The tuning was done utilizing the factory ECU. We await more details from the owner but in the mean time, bask in the awesomeness.
Yickes. Sounds like a lot of weight difference. I would hate to upset the weight balance that much. After all, this is the main reason why E30 M3's where so successful. Weight balance is amazing.
Do you guys know of anyone racing this configuration? Either way, i can expect the car to be....well...tail happy with that power But, maybe someone has figured out a way.
Moving the engine towards the rear seems like a nightmare. Don't know. Seems like S14+turbo may be the way to go. After all, adding a turbo and cooling systems will be a LOT less weight than the S62? But then again.....reliability.

An S14 turbo makes a lot more sense than swapping in an S62 IMO.

a friend of mine swapped a S38B38 in an E30 M3, the swap is so sweet. the sound of S38 with alpha-N setup is better than anything.
it's a heavy engine ( 150 kg ), but N/A with the right mods it makes the same power as S62 plus it's a lot cheaper and anyone can tune it.
adding E39 Diff with LSD in the back is a must, and with that you will add some weight on back which keeps the weight distribution near as perfect.
