    • ESS supercharged E90 M3 vs. Kenne Bell Gt500

ESS VT2-600 Supercharged M3 takes on a Kenne Bell Mustang GT500. The M3 owner claims the car is putting out well over 500 whp, clearly, it isn't.

Regarding the DCT, see this thread: http://www.bimmerboost.com/showthrea...ht=dct+journal

My motor is currently being built. Low compression stroker motor with a bigger blower. Won't speculate on power, but would love to run when you are putting down 850 whp in race trim. Too bad we are so far away from one another.

You need to get a new dyno or get out to the strip, something! You are making a bit more than 664 so yes, would be a good race and a Gintani Stage 2+ is in the same trap range. No way to say who would win, just line it up and see what happens. Obviously in race trim you would demolish it. So yes, I agree with you, as of right now it would be a great race to see.

Do you think your car will ET in the low 10s high 9s? That's where I should be with my setup. Has potential to trap in the mid 140s. I might dyno her soon too with all the new goodies, just to get an idea. Also hitting the track in a few weeks!! wohooo

I think on the stock motor the car would have done high 10's. So with the built motor... yep, I think on your race setup I would be right there with you Click here to enlarge

At this link you can see I ran a 12.1 at 118.5 with a 2.2 60 foot. First time at the track, on the 3rd pass. I go by Timber Wolf on that forum. This was on stock tires, which are garbage. With a good tire that would have been a 11.7 or so give or take.

Note that Ferrarokid in the 10 second section was running my blower but with the headers, race tune, pulley tune.
He ran a 10.2 at 139. He trapped well into the 140s but the ET suffered..

Here is what my old 490whp setup did to a stock GTR:

I'd be impressed... Then again not sure what you drive besides the lambo and 5.
Unfortunately the E9X M3s on the East Coast don't give my 135i a challenge unless they have full exhaust, intake software and pulleys. Boosted ones are another story! Click here to enlarge

Cool. Clearly not an M3 lol...
I wonder if the GTR had brake boosted what the outcome would have been for both of us. That can make a huge difference in these sorts of runs.

I think that the result would be minimal. Stock GTR's have lag, but its so minute that it's kind of a wash. On a 997TT or some big turbo Supra or m3, it could, but I think the GTR's advantage is the ability to have so much power from turbos, but be almost as responsive as N/A.

You raced the Grey ESS Supercharged M3 right? I'm trying to set something up with him.

Yeah that's me. He's a cool guy. We've had a few good laughs as he's started coming to our car guy's night. I think I've heard of you! He mentioned a Lambo... Let me know when you guys run, I'd love to come watch!

I think his car is in for some stuff, I haven't heard back from him (sent him an email earlier this week). Did you ever VBOX your car?

Yeah he went with smaller pulley but is sorting his tune out. Should be nice.
You know I was looking at getting a vbox last night... But can't get around to clicking buy!
And brake boosting would absolutely make a difference on a roll. You'd be at peek boost!! Even makes a huge difference in my 135 that has little bagel sized turbos...

I know the theories, but with the GTR, it spools to peak boost so quick, it doesn't matter. It's not like a N54 or a 997TT which take a little bit to spool. Huge difference between the turbo setup on the R35 GTRs vs. the rest of the F/I world.

I have a VBOX, let's meet up sometime and I'll save you the $500.
