    • 2014 F80 M3 spotted without camouflage on public roads in Yas Marina Blue

As the release date for the new 2014 F80 M3 nears this is not going to be an uncommon site but here are photos of what appears to be a completely production ready example of the new M3. The color you see is Yas Marina Blue which reminds one somewhat of the classic E46 Laguna Seca blue color fondly known on BMW forums as "smurf blue." BMW just appears to be doing some commercial shooting with this car which is why it was spotted on public roads with a camera car (Cayenne).

The motor will be a 3.0 liter S55 inline-6 six with twin turbos. Output will be 430 horsepower with 369 pound-feet of torque and most importantly BMW has managed to keep the weight down with the vehicle expected to weigh 3306 pounds. The new M3 is shaping up quite well, enjoy the photos and video below.

Looks awesome. I might even skip my E90 M3 wish and jump on a facelifted F80 M3 in a few years.

Looks great, I like the proportions of the m3 vs the m4. The m4 looks huge in the pics. I liked the e36 m3 sedan better back in the day too. I think the sedan sales will be very good in this new gen of m3/m4, better than the e9x m platform.

Wouldn't you think they would use a x5 as a camera car? Unless of course it's a outside firm/company doing the commercial. Also, why pick a expensive cayenne to chop up for a camera car? Why not a ford explorer, edge or something cheap? Lol

It's likely not BMW's own camera crew but the shooting company's. While in LA a few weeks back I also saw a Cayenne shooting a scene involving Mini's. I have the video on my phone if anyone cares.

I agree with you... I think the sedan looks better current gen, and next gen - but could never picture the e46 looking good as a sedan (prob why they didn't make it). For some platforms it fits (and for e9x it's a toss-up, I just think they both look great - and like the idea of 4-doors), others it doesn't. Does anyone know the sales split (coupe/sedan/vert) on the e9x M3?

Eh...besides the Yas Marina Blue. It doesn't look all that impressive.

Underwhelming to say the least. It somewhat just looks like a 335i with tacky aftermarket bumpers.

I am very quickly losing interest in this car. It better be one hell of drive for me to put in an order. I maybe getting burnt out on BMW's. I have owned quite of number of them.

The more I read about the upcoming C63, the more it is peaking my interest. Or a move to a P-car might finally have to happen.

Absolutely beautiful...dare I say best looking M3 yet? I have a thing for sedans...this is near perfection. Once again, the choice between M5 and M3 is hard.

Something about that rear bumper looks off. BMW is trying to hard this time around.

I'm a fan. Seeing how this gen's m3 is going to be FI stock it should be very easy to make more hp
