    • Dyno-Comp releases long tube headers for the SLS AMG M159 V8 - Dyno and pictures

Here is another M159 V8 header option for SLS AMG owners. There is not exactly a ton of long tube header options on the market for the SLS and the Supersprint system is generally considered one of the highest quality options out there although quite pricey. Dyno-Comp is throwing their solution into the mix featuring a tri-Y design made with 304 stainless steel piping and 321 stainless steel flanges.

Dyno-Comp did dyno the headers on a Dyno Dynamics and got a baseline of 440 horsepower to the wheels. They then added a tune, filters, and their headers resulting in 531 horsepower at the wheels. 91 horsepower at the wheels with bolt ons for an M159 V8? That seems quite optimistic with a 440 wheel Dyno Dynamics baseline and BenzBoost looks forward to third-party results verifying the claimed horsepower gains.

Additionally, due to a single dyno with a tune, filter, and the headers versus the stock baseline it is difficult to evaluate the impact and quality of the header design alone. More useful data would be a dyno with the headers alone, then with the filters, and then with the tune to see the changes at each individual stage.

Regardless, it is nice to have another header option for the SLS AMG on the market. Pictures, dynograph, and video below.

I wonder if MBH overcame the O2 sensor issues, great gains nonetheless.I know my car transformed after the headers install.

I believe it.. JoshO with the wide body c63 and oe tune with headers etc was even with tighties SC m3. I think that was on the lower gpower kit. Still though, the cars with bolt on's run traps over 125 and it's heavy as hell.

The m156 and m159 are in different states of tune to begin with.

I think everyone doing headers on the SLS runs into this and I'm not sure how everyone is solving it.

If you look at the SLS OE headers, you'll see the the primary O2 sensor is located after the the merger on the single pipe that is mating to the primary CAT.I'll try to find the pics i took of the exact location.

I believe they are MBH as well. Dynocomp work with Mike from MBH and he does all of thier exhust work.

They are Try-Yi Headers with 321 stainless steel flanges. I would highly assume that they were done by hooleyboy

Yes it's hooleyboy of course but the release specifically was written as quoted.

Additionally, I have disabled your pms and signature permanently as apparently you struggle to understand this is a car forum and not a place for hate speeches. Take some time off, it can permanent for all I care.

The headers look really nice and appear to be really high quality. Good job on those things.
