APR releases Audi 2.5 TFSI HPFP (High Pressure Fuel Pump)
With the release of the APR TT-RS 2.5 TFSI Stage III Garrett GT35R turbo upgrade
APR has also released a HPFP (high pressure fuel pump) upgrade that makes the fueling necessary to support over 600 horsepower at the wheels possible. In direct injected motors like the inline-5 2.5 TFSI engine very high fuel pressures are required and these requirements rise with horsepower often making fueling to go along with increased power a difficult tuning issue.
Hats off to APR who is able to deliver a HPFP upgrade (the BMW N54 market for example is still looking for a definitive upgrade in this area showing just how hard it is) able to flow enough fuel for almost a 300 wheel horsepower increase over stock.
APR's pump has a flow rate of 5250 cc/min compared to the stock ~4100 cc/min.
The price? $1,699.99 for a new pump or $1,199.99 for a rebuild. Just ask the BMW aftermarket if this is worth the price of admission.
