    • Production ready blue 2014 F34 335i Gran Turismo (GT) spotted testing in California and still looking ugly

BimmerBoost member bmw335iguy spotted and photographed a basically undisguised (emblems and model number covered) 2014 F35 GT testing on public roads in Santa Barbara, California. The car is still as repulsive as originally concluded when the first official photos leaked showing the design. No, the design has not grown on us. Well, perhaps like a tumor. BMW is determined to fit the round peg into a square hole despite the failure of the 5 Series GT.

Some positives? Well, the blue paint color is beautiful. Additionally, the F34 3 GT should sell better than the 5 GT by default as a virtue of its much lower price point. The 5 GT started out only available with the N63 V8 in 550i form and sold poorly. Those who bought 5-Series wagons in the past did not jump at the expensive GT due to it being, well, ugly, not a wagon, and too expensive.

This 3 GT at least looks better than the 5 GT and with a four-cylinder N20 motor available will make more sense for families in the USA who really want something in between a wagon and SUV with less functionality than either. All eight of them.

Thank you to @bmw335iguy for the photos.

God BMW make it stop already. Holy hell. Nobody wants it. Nobody. Not enough people bought the wagon? That's because you knee-capped them with the smallest engines, auto-only tranny choice, and low content/options. Nobody will buy these. A few thousand wagons is better than a couple hundred ugly GT road tumors.

Right but that was their reasoning not mine. They said that they would not sell the wagon here because they didn't sell enough last time and thought the GT would be better. 2 years later, everyone hates the GT, nobody bought it, everyone wants a wagon. Still no wagon, still making the GT. I don't understand what in the fck they are thinking. It's mind boggling.

I know I was making the point that they sold more wagons than this pile of crap. And... the wagon makes infinitely more sense.

I don't get it either. They find a business case for this but not for a Z4 M. Someone at BMW needs to be fired.
