    • Production ready blue 2014 F34 335i Gran Turismo (GT) spotted testing in California and still looking ugly

BimmerBoost member bmw335iguy spotted and photographed a basically undisguised (emblems and model number covered) 2014 F35 GT testing on public roads in Santa Barbara, California. The car is still as repulsive as originally concluded when the first official photos leaked showing the design. No, the design has not grown on us. Well, perhaps like a tumor. BMW is determined to fit the round peg into a square hole despite the failure of the 5 Series GT.

Some positives? Well, the blue paint color is beautiful. Additionally, the F34 3 GT should sell better than the 5 GT by default as a virtue of its much lower price point. The 5 GT started out only available with the N63 V8 in 550i form and sold poorly. Those who bought 5-Series wagons in the past did not jump at the expensive GT due to it being, well, ugly, not a wagon, and too expensive.

This 3 GT at least looks better than the 5 GT and with a four-cylinder N20 motor available will make more sense for families in the USA who really want something in between a wagon and SUV with less functionality than either. All eight of them.

Thank you to @bmw335iguy for the photos.

Improvement over the first 5-series GT. Not saying much lol. It isn't a complete and total disaster like the first one though.

I don't think he noticed but I was too busy trying to drive and take pictures at the same time, lol. I never cared for the old GT series either, but this one in person doesn't look too bad. I still would never buy one.

Does this even come in different lines? If so, this is the M-Sport. Love Santa Barbara btw, beautiful place, you're lucky to live there.

I live in SB too. I have seen many of the models before they come out. Not sure why they are around here as often as they are. I noticed that its only BMW too. Haven't seen any other companies testing here.

The other day I saw the 3 series GT, X5, and the 2 series all in a row all still in full camo.

I wonder why they made the bimmerang smaller and lower on this compared to the 4 series.

BMW has a VPC, or vehicle proccesing center in Oxnard where their new vehicles are sent to so that's why we see them cruising around SB. That's awesome you saw the new GT, X5 and 2 series. Try and get some pics next time!

Never liked the BMW GT's, if you need the functionality the wagons have more of it plus they actually look good.

I hope this one fails too like the 5GT. BMW is slacking... I don't know who's running their marketing research department, they are not appealing to the enthusiast, they are appealing to I don't know, themselves? You would have thought they learned their lesson from the abysmal sales of the 5GT...

In 2010 they sold 2,848 when they estimated they would sell 8,000
In 2011 they sold 720, when they estimated they would sell 4,000

I hope they sell 100 in 2014 and realize they F***ed up...
