    • BMW F10 550xi dyno results with Dinan Stage 3 N63 software, Active Autowerke downpipes, and Active Autowerke exhaust

      Nice dyno results here showing how potent a tuned N63 V8 can be with just bolt on modifications. The car has Dinan Stage 3 software which although more aggressive than the standard Dinan software is not the most aggressive software available for the platform. Still, the software alone versus the baseline provides 45 horsepower at the wheels which for conservative Dinan is definitely a solid gain. This is then combined with the Active Autowerke exhaust and downpipes.

      The final result is 406 horsepower at the wheels for a gain of 81 horsepower at the wheels on the more conservative reading Mustang dyno. Solid power and gains. Those with N63 V8's have a lot of power sitting there just waiting to be unleashed.

        You really read that to say I am saying the m3 puts down 400 whp? Wow. Read a few more times if necessary.

        The entire point is given the m3 puts down 340 whp bone stock, its amazing it runs the same time as a tuned 4.4L TT V8 putting down 65 more whp.

        Clarification for you-the m3 makes a ton less power stock and yet puts down the same times. Point-the weight of the 550 really slows it down.

        And yes gearing and dct but gearing is inherently built into the power and does not seperatly give any advantage. Meaning you make power at 8300 because you can gear accordingly so the power number already indirectly accounts for the gearing. But yes DCT is magic

        Not to split hairs or sound crass, but a comma or a semi-colon would help to separate your statements. Reading and re-reading has nothing to do with it.

        Nothing amazing about it. It's basic physics. The car weighs 3,700 lbs or 800 lbs less.

        Its not amazing my 435 lb Ducati 1098r with 165whp runs a 9.90.

        Also note my '12 X5 which weighs 1000lbs (5450lbs) more than my 550 puts down identical hp and tq on the same mustang dyno is 5-6 tenths slower.

        Now I think about it part of the problem is the mixed thread.

        My car didn't put 403whp it did 386 on a mustang dyno (430-440whp dynometer).

        I still don't know how these got crossed.

        How can I close this thread?
