Well that's some strong automotive journalism there Car and Driver. So the head of M wants a supercar based on the i8 and the head of BMW does not think it fits the direction of the company (electrics, hybrids, hippie green marketing crap) showing just how far off course the company is now from building drivers cars.
If BMW needs to be talked into building a successor to the M1 there is no hope. If the head of M can't even get a successor built to the very first production M car (and that's with BMW's 100 year anniversary is coming up in 2016) yet a $150+k hybrid gets the green light there is something seriously wrong at BMW these days.
If it does come, expect it to have a modified 4.4 liter S63 V8 motor with an output of 650 horsepower and a hefty price tag. That's absolutely fine with us but somebody please find out what happened to BMW's balls. Build the damn thing and show a little backbone, what the hell is wrong you BMW?
