• First 9 second Porsche 911 Turbo on stock turbos - Champion Motorsport's GIAC tuned 997.2 Turbo S runs 9.8@135

Wow, major achievement here and quite an improvement on what this car was doing previously which already was incredibly impressive. This vehicle previously hit 10.3@133 on stock turbos with full weight. Champion Motorsport gave the car some stickier rubber and the time improved quite a bit. How does [email]9.837@135 sound? On the stock turbos? With a full weight car? Well, to PorscheBoost that sounds absolutely incredible.

Modifications are the same as the previous run with a GIAC tune, Werks1 airbox, Tubi race exhaust, and IPD plenum. The difference is the switch from street tires to drag radials in back. The 60 foot dropped 2 tenths to 1.425 which is quite an improvement. Keep in mind, this was achieved at Palm Beach International Raceway in Florida which is not one of the East Coast tracks where the cold weather and negative density altitude inflates times.

Video and timeslip below. Congratulations to GIAC and Champion Motorsport.

Isn't his motor built or has rods?

Just browsed through the build thread on 6Speed to confirm:
        • Stock Motor
        • Aftermarket Turbo Inlet Piping
        • IPD Competition Plenum
        • 75mm TB
        • 997.2 GTRS Intercoolers
        • Upgraded Fuel Pump & Injectors to support E85
        • Tial Alpha 3076 Turbos

Prodigymb, M3ntal & Tim941NYC (http://www.porscheboost.com/showthre...rful-996-Turbo) are all garage build P-Cars, and Tim's car is the only one with a built motor.

I could have sworn he had rods or something? Regardless though from what I have seen going past 6XX has led to some failures. E85 may allow a little more due to the cooling timing benefit but the stock rods simply won't support reliable and retainable HP at the 800+ level. I mean it's just asking for trouble.

        It is really weird
Cause most of tuners got pdk tranny start slipping once it reach 580-600whp. That monster trapped 135mph vs others tuned/bolt ons pdk trapped 127-128mph

        So whats the secret?

I 100% agree that if you're going to invest big bills into your motor, internals aren't something you should look to skip/save money on (especially because you get the option to adjust the CR & increase boost), I'm just saying it CAN be done.
Prodigymb (Mark's) rods bent at or about 700 whp is my understanding

You can't push the rods as far as people think and expect the motor to last. They are a weak spot especially with upgraded turbos.
