• Weistec Stage III+ 1000 horsepower W209 CLK63 AMG Black Series versus SP-Engineering 950R Nissan GTR

      Great race here with two heavyweights slugging it out. The Weistec Stage III+ CLK63 AMG Black Series was beating pretty much everything at the No Fly Zone event with the lone exception of this modified GTR. Both cars are very heavily modified and put down somewhere in the 9XX wheel horsepower range. The GTR was running C16 fuel and 30 psi which results in 926 all wheel horsepower as measured on the SP-Engineering Mustang dyno.

      The CLK63 AMG is also somewhere in the 9XX wheel range with the Weistec built motor, built transmission, and 3.0 liter blower running high boost. The difference is the GT-R's power is likely 1000+ whp on a dynojet but that is just an educated guess.

      Regadless, two very fast cars and a great race between worthy opponents. Enjoy.

        I think @JRCART CLK did very well. If you stop the play button on the video at the finish line for both cars, the difference between them is a few fractions of a second.The GTR is making 926whp on a mustang dyno which reads much lower than a dynojet. Ive seen 15-20% difference on readings for the same cars. On a dynojet, it would correspond at least around 1100 whp. thats 200whp more than what the CLK BS is making and it weighs 400lbs (at least) less, yet we see the CLK still running hard. I think its safe to assume if the CLK was putting down the same amount of whp, it would have beaten the GTR

        Mustangs do usually read lower and the CLK did well but we can't speculate that it's 1100 whp. It could be, but it also could likely be lower. Not all Mustang dynos read lower.

        You are right, but we both know that the GTR is making more whp than the CLK and weighs at least 400lbs less. I thought the CLK ran very well

        400 pounds? I don't think so.

        The CLK did run well and yes I would venture to guess the GTR is making more power.

        The dry weight of the car is approximately 3,880.

        Roll cage, supercharger, ice tank, extra lines and water add up very quickly.

        His car is lightened a bit as I recall. I don't think the difference is anywhere near 400 pounds.

        Judging by the seats. I would imagine it's lightened quite a bit. I am sure he will comment.

        Still, the weight stock is 3839 and the GTR is 3830 so feels like we are reaching. It's a wash basically.

        I believe so. your quoting stock dry weight. The curb weight is much more. the CLK is not stock and Jim mentioned once (I believe on mbworld if I am not mistaken) that his car scaled around 4200
