      APR sure is hyping their ECU upgrade for the 4.0 TFSI turbo V8 motors in the Audi S6 and A7. Just over a week ago a teaser video was posted showing an overlay of the acceleration between the stock car and the APR tuned car. Yes, quite a large difference between the stock and tuned car. Well, here is another teaser although this time with a dyno graph showing what an APR tuned 4.0 TFSI looks like on 100 octane at all four wheels before/after.

      The graph has six stock runs and six 100 octane tuned runs. AudiBoost is not sure what dyno they are using but the numbers are stated to be at all four wheels. Power goes from about ~400 horsepower at all four wheels to what appears to be a peak of 497.1. That's just under 100 wheel horsepower software only which is phenomenal.

      Torque gains are huge as well and the curve actually appears to be smoother after the tune and not as choppy as the OEM tune. The main difference really being the huge mountain of torque after the tune that hits as early as 2500 rpm. This is going to be something easily noticeable and likely addicting for S6 and S7 owners. After seeing this graph, if you have this motor, good luck trying to keep yourself from not touching it.

        Also... Can the Dual Clutch handle this much torque reliably?? I would be interested in this tune with more information. Thanks.

        APR takes so much care they won't release it unless it's 100% reliable. The issue is really how you drive it. If you launch everywhere all the time the stock torque will take its toll as well.

        They left a lot of hp on the table. Dayyyyyum. That is strong and I don't even like Audi. As Lord Vader said "impressive, most impressive."
