    • What a Tesla Model S versus E63 AMG drag race really looks like - Renntech tuned E63 AMG beats down the record setting Tesla Model S

Just a few days ago a misleading video was posted of a Tesla Model S beating a new bi-turbo E63 AMG in a "drag" race. The drag race was not one on the drag strip and it hardly went long enough favoring the lower trap speed / lower top end of the Tesla Model S over the E63 AMG. The fact is, when a Tesla Model S lines up on a drag strip versus an E63 AMG as it did here it is going to get flat out smacked right across its electric behind.

Defenders of the electric wonder car will say the E63 AMG has a Renntech Tune. Yep, it does, and the tune only E63 AMG runs 11.1@128 to the Tesla's 12.4@107. This same Tesla that was claimed to beat Vipers in a drag race (a properly launched SRT-10 will beat the Tesla Model S down as well) and even the new F10 M5. Go ahead and try to run low 11's in your Tesla Model S with just a tune, you won't. Go ahead and try and beat any of the aforementioned cars in a full 1/4 mile with the Tesla Model S when they are not launched by someone's 90 year old grandmother. Not happening.

Videos regarding the Tesla Model S drag race performance are just hype and skewed in its favor. A stock E63, tuned E63, Performance Package E63, F10 M5, and SRT-10 Viper are all faster cars stock or modded than the Tesla on the drag strip or highway. This drag video below is more realistic than the propaganda put out to this point favoring the electric sedan.

        Tough to disagree with this.
