Why? Well, the arrogance of Mfest in targeting the same date as Bimmerfest when Bimmerfest specifically kept their same date is absolutely absurd. Bimmerfest is the show that has gone on for longer with the more dedicated following. Mfest is quite simply a cash grab for Chris Naguit. Speaking from experience in attending Mfest, it is nothing more than a trip to Las Vegas with some BMW's thrown in and having to throw money at the organizers to get a T-shirt.
BimmerBoost has been speaking to its vendors and they find it absurd that Mfest decided to make this move. They are finding it rather low class to force a choice in such manner. Those vendors are choosing to attend Bimmerfest instead. BimmerBoost has spoken to its California vendors and they are happy to choose to attend Bimmerfest in lieu of Mfest especially considering the cost difference involved and how little they felt they got in return from past Mfest sponsorship.
BimmerBoost also will be working as an official media sponsor of Bimmerfest this year. Out of the two, it was only Bimmerfest who took the time to state BimmerBoost's involvement and presence would be desired and appreciated. So, BimmerBoost will do everything in its power to support BimmerFest including organizing caravans for its members to attend BimmerFest (complete with group parking), photo coverage, video coverage, as well as encouraging its vendors to attend.
After attending Mfest I was left with a bad taste in my mouth. The entire event is poorly organized and my past review would be posted as a reference but Chris deleted it off his forum. Their "club" events they try to make look so cool really just amount to people funneling cash so the Mfest boys can get bottle service and then nobody else knows where these "tables" are or where/when to go. Somehow the Mfest clique got their tables and club entrance though:

When attempting to go to the drag strip with other Mfest attendees (we're there to enjoy the cars I thought?) Chris Naguit specifically would delete the posts about Mfest group drag racing on the Mfest forums because he was not getting a cut from the drag strip racing that he has now added as an event after the fact when BimmerBoost suggested having drag racing be a part of the weekend in the first place. Seriously Chris?
Not to mention all the "raffles" that were supposedly to go to BMW enthusiasts attending Mfest instead ended up going to one of the guys working for Mfest who happened to be selling the raffle tickets and had a huge stack of as many of them as he wanted. He "somehow" managed to get a very large amount of "free" parts in the "raffles" for attendees. Shady? You bet. Don't believe me? Don't take my word for it then:

Same guy winning all the parts year after year who knows the organizer and is handling the raffle tickets? A little fishy don't you think?
If one wants to replicate the Mfest experience all they have to do is grab a BMW, drive to Vegas, and light their money on fire (or more accurately give it to Chris so he and his friends have a great time in Vegas ON YOUR DIME). Done. Bimmerfest is a community gathering of all BMW's, not specifically targeting a certain demographic (Asians with M cars), and where the real enthusiasts will be. One is an event for posers to try to look cool in "modified" BMW's (EXAMPLE HERE) the other is for BMW enthusiasts from all walks of life. Which one are you?
More to come as official announcements are made.
