• Trouble in paradise? Vishnu/FFtec N54 335ii Single Turbo kits experiencing issues as a BimmerBoost member runs 12.5@121 with misfires and having to short shift

BimmerBoost would like to thank member GeorgiaTech335Coupe for his openness and honesty regarding his Vishnu/FFTEC single turbo setup. Recently, this member took his single turbo upgraded 6-speed manual 335i to the PBIR (Palm Beach International Raceway) dragstrip in Florida to do some testing. His best run was a 12.50@121.6 alongside a 12.8@117. Yes, these times are quite a ways away from the 10.8@131 glory pass from Vishnu demonstrating the kits capability.

This is in no way the fault of GeorgiaTech335Coupe who experienced misfires on his car and had to short shift at 6300 rpm in order to avoid them. Now, Vishnu has basically portrayed this kit as perfect and ready for sale with nobody having any issues. The reason BimmerBoost is bringing this issue to the attention of the community is for potential buyers to understand what they are getting into.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with having issues when modifying a car to this level and BimmerBoost is confident Vishnu will resolve them. There is something wrong with pretending nothing is wrong. A few cars with the single turbo kits have gone up for sale and apparently a total of three people, that are willing to open their mouths, are having misfire issues with these kits.

These issues will no doubt get resolved but potential buyers and current customers needs to be aware of the process, effort, and that progress is being made. Pretending nothing is wrong and collecting money simply is the wrong way to go about this and once again (it's becoming a trend) BimmerBoost is the only site bringing these issues to the attention of the community.

For the record, a member by the name of @tmo335tt says he has a hardware solution for the misfires that he will likely share with Vishnu (hopefully not for free). Interesting that it isn't Vishnu but the community solving this.

Thanks again to @GeorgiaTech335Coupe for sharing his details, good or bad, as we all learn thanks to honesty and openness. There is more to tuning than just collecting money.

        I'd trade my car for a M3 with a 625+ anyday ;D

But I'm just going to stick it out till the new M4 comes out.

You better believe the M3 will be the first to the 9's as well. It isn't a comparison, you have no argument, stick to the topic. Maybe talk about that fix so you don't get embarrassed by forced induction M3's.

Sick M3....Kind of resembles a 335....oh wait it has a turbo inline 6....Where did that V8 go?

Don't get your panties in a bunch...I don't dislike M3's but you are very sensitive about the subject.

So when a manufacturer makes an engine change in a model it's because, um, it's better? Why aren't they racing that inline-6 but instead trying to go to a bigger V8?

No I just think you don't seem to know much about the subject because it's incredibly one-sided as of right now. I already told you to stick the topic but if you would like to continue by all means. Shouldn't you first figure out how to get your single turbo to stop misfiring before trying to play with faster cars anyway?

The misfire is solved....I must know a little something if I figured out the "Misfire Mystery" that has been going on for a couple years. Don't even bring up racing bud...I grew up racing shifter karts with Joey Hand and racing M3 PTG cars...What racing experience do you have? Xbox?

Ohh and a little time in a winged sprint car....let me know when you can pull a wheelie in your M3.

Not about what is going in the whole of E9X performance though apparently.

Oh so now you solved it, yet, can't talk about it right? So we get 10 more pages of speculation, awesome.

You racing shifter carts changes the drivetrain of cars BMW sells or has some kind of relevance to it? Logical.

I can say from personal experience that the one i know (@BuraQ) is maybe not the "fastest" in our area but right there as one of the quickest running an average 12.0 with very modest launches as of yet on street tires. J.S.
Just to point out, full street car means different things to different people... An Fbo 335i is a full street car to me. You really can't go out and change diffs, build trannies, run gallons of meth, completely shift the power curve, drive on drag radials and still be considered a full street car.
Thats what all the fast DD car's have around me.. Especially the american's.. Some even with cages in them.

Exactly.. PBIR requires a roll cage at 11.49 ET
Had i not had to let off the gas due to loss of traction at the 1/8 mile last time out, I would be rocking a cage in a FBO 335i without even meth or DRs. Either way my car will be a daily driver with a cage pretty soon just because i enjoy the strip and there are rules. It doesnt make you not a street car lol

This guy is such a troll. Lol. Whipping out a single turbo vid from the airstrip to prove a point is laughable. The STs at the air strip sucked, admit it. This was the one run where the ST even looked alright and it was against a full weight m3 making a lot less power. Laughable.

Also, how did the misfire fix go?

What is your point with bringing up things from left field? What relevance does this have to issues discussed in the thread? Who cares?

The relevance is that you claim to follow BMW racing when in reality you follow the $#@! that is talked about on here, that is more about guys having fun at a drag strip.
