      Congratulations to Scott Thies owner of the E92 M3 which recently set the overall E9X record surpassing the 10.69@129.38 set by VAC Motorsports in a VF-Engineering supercharged DCT M3. Scott's car just nudged past with a 10.65@131.79. Density altitude at the time of that run by VAC was about ~-1320 and density altitude at the time of this run could have been from anywhere from -2500 to -1559 depending on what time of day the car ran.


      It's fair to say conditions were slightly more favorable and both records were set (no surprise) at ATCO in New Jersey. As is the norm, cold dense air and a well prepped strip on the East Coast makes for some record breaking runs. In addition to the favorable conditions, Scott's car had a line lock, drag radials, and 120 pounds removed from the car good for about a 1/10 or a MPH using the old drag racing rule of thumb concerning weight loss.

      We are now going to see people all hit around the same max times on the stock internals. Similar to what we saw here, a 1 mph or a tenth will be the difference so the stock internal battles come down to whomever has the best launch and best weather to work with. All the various kits are all capable of hitting similar performance numbers with the main limitation being the stock internal motor makeup.

      The next step for the S65 which has already demonstrated mid 10 second capability with a blower is the built motor supercharger setups. Congratulations to Scott, well done.

        Is it just me or is that the same trap speed that the Vishnu ST ran and everyone was complaining that the trap was too slow?

        Anyways congrats on some good runs and fast cars.

        This setup puts out somewhere in the mid 500's to the wheels. The Vishnu setup was claiming something like 650. So same trap with almost 100 more wheel horsepower? Ya, kind of slow. The M3 would be doing almost 140 with that much power.

        The RB cars are in the mid 500's and aren't trapping 130+ or running 10's yet? whats your point?

        The point is more efficient use of power. If the RB cars aren't trapping 130 with mid 500's but M3's are that's kind of the whole point regarding the criticism.

        here we go with dct vs mt again.. heres a hint, its 1-2 mph at most in the 1/4

        Only advantage the DCT is that it'll give perfect launches until it overheats or the clutch pack is fried. With the MT, you're a spastic left foot away from stalling or $#@!ty gear changes.

        There isn't an NLS feature for the supercharged E9x M3s is there?
